Why didn’t JKR spend her money on rape centres, women’s rights and abortion rights?

Because a) she already does, b) she already does and c) we already have those.

But thanks for popping along to mansplain it all to her, and us. Much obliged, I’m sure Hmm

His mum is his biggest fan and was probably stood just out of shot, unless she's letting him go out to play on his own these days.

I'm old enough to remember when his dipshit mother used to come on to these boards to tell us off for being unkind about her massive cheating son

Grammarnut · 23/04/2025 23:11

@JohnKettleyIsAWeathermanAndSoIsMichaelFish I saw the end of the interview when she's faced with having said only women have a cervix (true) and the argument is put forward that TiFs (transmen) have a cervix so it's transphobic to say only women have a cervix. It seems to me the answer to that one is that 'transmen' are women, so it's not an issue. But Duffield let that pass and talked about knowing you have a cervix even if you have transitioned.
My point is that it looks like Starmer is going to get off the cervix hook by implying he was thinking of transmen - when he wasn't he was thinking of TiMs - and now TiFs are going to be used as an argument for letting TiMs into women's spaces. Or am I reading more into this than there is?

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 23/04/2025 23:29

Why didn’t JKR spend her money on women’s rights?

She did. £70,000 in fact, to get the highest court in the land to tell the Scottish Govt to recognise that women's rights apply to a distinct sex class.

And she personally funds a rape counselling centre too.

SabrinaThwaite · 23/04/2025 23:30

Poor Emily.

Now it’s really sunk in that Emily is never going to be ‘a woman’ and flailing around about Joanne Rowling is as much as Emily can do to try and stay relevant.

Stay classy Emily.

FriedGold32 · 23/04/2025 23:31

You can tell that they spend every waking moment on Reddit when they ludicrously repeat US talking points like the abortion one. Surprised he didn't threaten to call the Feds on her.

Enough4me · 23/04/2025 23:32

If he wanted to help women, he could stop lying and ensure he stayed out of women's facilities.

murasaki · 23/04/2025 23:37

He's a whinging cheater. But I do suspect mummy is pushing him into the limelight and feel a little sorry for him on that front. He needs to move out, grow up, and move on.

And a reminder of all the things I'm aware JKR has funded -

Millions to research MS -

Volent.
Helping to alleviate social deprivation primarily across Scotland, particularly supporting women, children and young people at risk.

And there's loads more that I can't think of right now.

But this no mark, male cheat thinks he should be able to dictate what she should spend her money on?

On your cheating bike, pal.

And yet he thinks she has "more money than sense". Er, nope - made a lot of money doing awesome things, is now using it to do more awesome things.

SabrinaThwaite · 23/04/2025 23:40

‘She’s seen as like a messiah’.

Alright, she is the messiah. Now fuck off.

(to paraphrase Monty Python).

Oh no, that's embarrassing

Whereismyjoiedevivre · 23/04/2025 23:47

Why do they keep talking to men about the Supreme Court ruling?

How annoying of his mum to say that, the "be kind" rubbish is what got everyone into the mess that now has to be unravelled.
Bet his mum knew she was a woman when she had him, not something he could do!

SabrinaThwaite · 23/04/2025 23:49

Thought I should add the Month Python clip, it’s a gem.

I get the feeling Bridges mum told him the sun shone out his a%£# rather than the truth. When he couldn't compete against men I'm sure she was fine with him switching to cheating. He needs to hear "no" more often.

BunfightBetty · 23/04/2025 23:57

He’s an absolute melt. Embarrassing.

catstudies · 24/04/2025 00:04

I’ve been on threads (IG) the last couple of days and it’s endless. WOMEN saying this can’t be endorsed unless people are strip searched/ their privacy is breeched;
transmen are more dangerous than transwomen; transwomen living a woman’s life are women; transwomen will have had the same lived experience if transitioned pre puberty; what spaces women need to safeguard other than toilets- everyone is in their own cubicle in the toilets, anyway; what is a woman; JKR must die and Starmer doesn’t speak for me.
We’ve got a lot of young women on IG/ Threads who absolutely hate ‘terfs’.
Feels a bit like bashing your head to the wall

ErrolTheDragon · 24/04/2025 00:04

I’m not on x - what are the comments like so far?

No idea. But usual Islamophobia and transphobia?

Enough4me · 24/04/2025 00:09

The X I've seen is highly pro women/reality but I don't follow Genderwoo believers anyhow. Comments from Mr Willoughby (calls himself India) have been a laugh, but JKR reactions are better.

Datun · 24/04/2025 00:12

Dear lord, it's almost not right even interviewing that person. So many issues.

What leaps out to me, about all this, is there's little wonder that people like Emily, his family, and allies, are so hellbent on him playing in women's sport. Because he's got fuck all hope of doing anything else.

I don't remember his mum talking on here, I don't think I was involved in those conversations. But she must've been seriously relieved that he was getting somewhere, doing something.

It goes without saying that women's goals and achievements aren't bloody candy to be handed out as a consolation price to crap athletes.

But I don't often hear these men speak, and now I'm wondering, if it truly is the only bloody thing they can do. Not qualified in anything else, can't string a sentence together, couldn't hold down a job, but cheat at women's sport? Piece of piss.

Most succinct reply to Emily’s mum promoting Emily’s interview on ITV tonight.

dubaichocolate · 24/04/2025 00:29

I might be wrong but I think unlike most trans athletes who compete in women’s sports EB was actually good and on the GB men’s team but had an accident and hasn’t been able to get back to their previous ability. Of course what they need now is therapy to come to terms with that and not try to get in the women’s category as a consolation prize.

Indeed. Lots of people have to suddenly change their life goals because of injury or illness, including me. Life isn't fair.

JohnKettleyIsAWeathermanAndSoIsMichaelFish · 24/04/2025 00:46

No debate is over. The mantrums are making no difference. The majority of average people on the street are speaking and they are saying that TWAM. There are a few shouts of "be kind!", a few "bigot!" and a few "transphobe!" but the tide has definitely turned now. Corporates may be catching up but I really think the trans right movement is having it's swan song now.

unwashedanddazed · 24/04/2025 01:46

Ignorant, petulant, arrogant brat.
