I get they’ve had trans people in TV studios and doing phone interviews since the ruling but doing an actual sit down interview somewhere is a bit overkill? I missed it. I am assuming that whoever was interviewing Emily put "her" right? (Do we still need to use preferred pronouns?) Watching Rosie Duffield on Newsnight. A very good interview about her experience and I hope what she has said gets some fraction of the air time the mantrums have.

Not wanting to derail as JKR has spent lots of money on women’s rights, and is a star philanthropist. And Emily Bridges is just being ignorant and nasty in this, pushing misinformation. But think it’s important to point out that we don’t really have abortion rights in most of the UK.

Women don’t get the final say over whether we can have an abortion or not. We are allowed an abortion if we satisfy doctors that we meet fairly restrictive grounds. Otherwise we commit a serious crime.

The grounds have been quite loosely interpreted for the last 30ish years, which makes it a less urgent fight than it might be, but it would be easy for them to be reined in without any changes to legislation.
