Some strange contradictory arguments from the TRA side

Claim 1: That it's unfair for TW to go in men's toilets because they're less safe there.

It's probably true that they're less safe there, but how does the conclusion follow? What about a gender-nonconforming male who identifies as a man (not as a woman)? He would still have to go into the gents' even if admission to toilets was on the basis of gender identity. Should he also go to the ladies' to be safe? What about various other vulnerable groups? Young boys, elderly men who may be frail without being disabled, or ethnic minority males in an area where a white racist movement is strong - maybe they would all be safer in the ladies'? But it doesn't mean that's the answer!

Claim 2: That there is no use banning self-identified TW from the ladies' on the basis they might represent a risk, because genuinely dangerous males won't care whether they're allowed in or not.
This implies that the ladies' toilet is no safer than the gents', and therefore it completely contradicts the first point!

Claim 3: That having rules about who can and can't enter the toilets will lead to a surge in TM and others being wrongly accused of being in the wrong toilets.

But even under the EHRC's and Scottish government's understanding of the law, there were theoretical limitations on who could enter which toilets (in theory you would have needed a GRC). So there have always been rules about who can enter. Does anyone recall a huge problem of false accusations before 2010 or before 2004? If not, why should it start now?

Wow! Just saw Financial Times Gillian Tett on Newsnight reacting to Rosie Duffield negatively. Obvious the FT is totally captured. I've heard this. And The Times. These guys have pretty much won the battle and the war against women in spite of the Supreme Court Ruling.

I think I almost prefer the overt misogyny of Carry On to the covert misogyny of the "be kind" people.

I don't know your educational background, but at my school we learned about intersex and chromosomal variation not being tied exclusively to pubescent development in Biology when we were around 14. It was pretty fundamental science, to be honest.

Had you stayed in education for science A Levels you would have found out that half of what you were taught at GCSE wasn't true. A lot was simplified.

Blood comes in more groups than A B O and rhesus. Acceleration due to gravity isn't 10m/s^2 any more

Oh and who thinks 'chromosomal variation' has ANYTHING to do with pubescent development. Yes the changes that happen at puberty are dictated by whether you are male or female but chromosomal variation accounts for things like Down Syndrome. People with Down Syndrome go through puberty.

Shouldn’t be, if he turns out to be a genuine trans man then I guess that’s the price you pay when you alter your body in such a way that people mistake you for a man.

I just watched Politics Live from 22/4 where they were talking about this ruling. The transwoman lawyer said there's a very simple solution to the toilet issue. They said, keep the current seperate gender seperation and have a seperate single facility for people who, for what ever reason, want a more private space. IE Chuck women out of the women's so men are free to use them.

Certainly, not currently legal in schools, as per recent judgement.

If this person wants to campaign for a change in the law, that is certainly their right, but would be difficult given the unpopularity of mixed sex toilets.

This has some, errrm, 'interesting' arguments from the TRA side.

I believe Martina Navratilova said that her coach (a TW) could almost beat her in a match and he was very low ranked when he played as a man.
I used to be a competitive swimmer so am still very fast but by the time DS hit 10 he started to equal me and soon overtake me despite his stroke being crap and him only swimming on holiday.
