I'm really hoping the Sandie Peggie trial will become a Post Office scandal style hit TV show.

Of course they sent me a lot of abusive messages on Facebook and WhatsApp before reporting me to my HR department. (Of course they did!)
I’ve blocked. Much as I’d like to unblock and 🖕I won’t. I do believe that we all still have to make sure that trans identifying people are not discriminated against, bullied or harassed for being trans. We need to be better than the TRAs

Perfect. Sandie Peggie’s tribunal has taught us that we should record our own evidence. Make sure to record all the abusive screenshots and send to HR. If HR do t start a disciplinary on this person plus re-education then you can take them to ET. I’ll support your gardening fund

Women and children are owed a MASSIVE apology by every government since 2010, the NHS, the BBC, the Guardian, the police, the courts, the Department for Education and many more besides.

Women children and trans people are owed a MASSIVE apology from Stonewall and the likes.

Hear hear!

DiaAssolellat · 18/04/2025 20:52

Great article by Janice, as per usual.

Did Ruth Hunt really say “men will always rape women”?!?

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 18/04/2025 20:56

fieldsofflowers · 18/04/2025 17:35

considering there was no consultation of trans people by the uksc i rather think it’s that community owed the apology

Oh dear 😅

What would that consultation have looked like?

Supreme Court - We need to rule whether we believe that ‘sex’ as stated in the EA 2010, is of the immutable kind or based on how people ‘feel’. What say you?

Seriously?

I didn’t note any women’s groups being consulted during the first and second readings of the GRC that caused this shit show on sex being all about nebulous gender feelz (reading are available to peruse online)

What would that have achieved exactly? A bunch of TW, (because it’s never TM is it?) would say ‘look at me, it’s obvious to anyone that I’m a woman, and it’ll be VERY transphobic of you if you say otherwise, and then we’ll have to stand outside throwing bottles of our own piss at passing women and waving handmade signs saying TW ARE women’. It would achieve nothing.

Ah is this thread reserved for those with gender critical views?

It’s a fact based thread, you got any facts for us?

That's some serious misandry if Hunt did say that. Men can choose not to rape and abuse. The whole of feminism is predicated on their ability to choose not to rape and abuse. If they couldn't make that choice, there'd be no point in fighting for women and girls to be free from male violence.

CountFucula · 18/04/2025 21:10

I dispute that last sentence. I think a "Pissed Off Tr*nnies" piss protest outside the SC, witnessed by the judges, would have achieved a lot. It wouldn't have achieved what the protestors wanted to achieve, but it would have achieved a lot. An own goal is still a goal.

This is what Janice quotes her as saying. I’m sure Janice did her research.

Yes she did, it was whilst she was still at Stonewall so it's a while ago. I can't remember the exact context but I'm sure someone has kept the receipts.

I don't think there will ever be an apology. It's not over, the trans activists are still claiming they need clarification as if their vile misogyny has been motivated by confusion.

FeelingLessTired · 18/04/2025 21:24

Brilliantly concise and justifiably angry Janice Turner article.

The response or lack-of reinforces what we already know.

ArabellaScott · 18/04/2025 21:30

SlackJawedDisbeliefXY · 18/04/2025 20:09

It seems like a significant part of Stonewall and other TRA activists approach is to always center the argument on a single person's experience and then follow up with an appeal to 'be kind' or similar.

Faced with this most people will cave as most want to be perceived as 'nice' - especially when to stand up means to be subjected to an extended tirade of abuse.

The SC decided a point of law - I don't think 'be kind' carries any weight in this decision

I don't know. One could.characterise the whole.point of anti discrimination legislation as a giant 'be kind' exercise.

It's just that the SC somehow miraculously decided that women are worthy of kindness, too.

This has caused much outrage and gnashing of teeth.

FeelingLessTired · 18/04/2025 21:34

Much gnashing indeed. On another thread some person has said that trans people feel like they have been raped with this judgement.

I was less polite (or kind) than I usually am.

Janice Turner on form. I have the Billy Joel song going round in my head. David Lammy, Theresa May, Red Ang, Maria’s way…

Let’s not downplay this triumph for women

The Scottish government in its collective and legal form was representing the trans community. Against three women. The trans community has consistently had the backing of every large public organisation in the land to unravel women's rights.

And our taxpayer's money - no one asked women whether they wanted their taxes to be used against them, or local authorities to refuse to use our local taxes to support women's badly needed services.

Tomatotater · 18/04/2025 21:42

mrshoho · 18/04/2025 20:10

Yes 💯. How the hell did every damn public body and institution allow this nonsense to get this far? How did judges and lawyers sit in courts and with a straight face state men were women? How did medical doctors deny biology and science with such conviction?

I suspect because there was something about these women that they just, I don't know, preferred, to other women. The annoying ones who kept having to be burned as witches because they just never stopped bloody yapping, and the ones that kept boring on about the vote, and the really annoying ones that kept striking for equal pay. These ones were just, I don't know... more...male somehow. Even though they were women. They couldn't quite put their fingers on why. So they just gave them everything they wanted, just on their say so. Because they were somehow better.
