I have seen a lot of well deserved shout outs to the brilliant Magdalen Berns today ❤️. let's not forget that she brought a bunch of us together after we were banned from Mumsnet for transphobia back in the bad old days. and her videos were born from those disturbing days and furtive chats. So thanks Mumsnet, I guess 😁. let's raise a glass to MB 🍺🍷🥃❤️

I think that MN have carried out a fine balancing act, it's not just as simple as allowing all opinions. It's more complex for them, as a business. There have been incidents such are Barclays withdrawing advertising and declaring that MN wax a transphobic hate site.

The self promoting group "advising" businesses as to which sites to eschew, despite having no properly constituted authority.

Mass complaints and reporting of posts and posters, coming from the likes of Reddit. Intimidating complaints and tactics from tax avoidance specialists, posing as trans rights law specialists.

MN is a successful business, with employees to consider and revenues to protect. I think that they've done a reasonable job, if imperfectly.

But they are human and so are we; which of us is perfect? Not me.

A few weeks ago and for the first time ever Mumsnet deleted one of my posts for saying non binary isn't a real thing. I was surprised because posters say that a lot. Perhaps a trigger happy mod?
