Gomersall can't quite believe he was beaten by a man it seems.
I think Glasgow will be an interesting place for the Greens internally in the campaigns next year. Gomersall will have to campaign a lot for for Harvie to have any chance of being elected. Hopefully Gomersall will drag the Green vote down though.
Questioning the vote in the NE as well is absurd just because more people voted differently than last time.
"Maggie Chapman got around 50 more negative votes than would be expected for an incumbent MSP, and Guy Ingerson got around 50 more first-preference votes than might be expected.
Thing it is not because Ingerson was a great campaigner it is because Chapman was awful even for a Green. Saying that the Supreme Court needs effectively to be ignored is a Trump like defiance of the rule of law. Hardly surprising that a bunch of people voted against her.
Hilariously it seems that Chapman only lost because the Greens can't define what a woman is. As mentioned earlier in thread the Scottish Greens decided to drop the division by sex because that would mean accepting biology was a thing. Poetic justice !
Controversially, the party decided against any gender balancing mechanism in the selection contests.
"It is a massive surprise to see any incumbent not get selected. We were really sad not to see the gender balancing that we've had in the past," said one senior member.
"If there had been gender balancing she would have been in top ranked."

Anyway lets hope the infighting continues.
