I read the Ovarit comments and I read the sanctimonious Reddit comments about Ovarit closing. I know of Saidit and Clovenhooves and, obviously, Mumsnet, but there must be other sites too. Where is the best alternative to Ovarit right now?

I'm really sorry to hear that. Ovarit has been one of my regular stops; I've considered it the wilder sister to FWR. I've often found stories (like this one) appearing there first, and linked to it/quoted from it on my own site...

Not my place. For one thing I'm not a woman, which I think is a prerequisite. However, I do offer space for GC talk. I've not been shy about linking to it in the past, but it always leads to loads of visits by 'bots, which is no big deal but annoying when there's no return, so I'll forgo that pleasure today.
