Very welcome article. Wilfully skewing your own data so as not to upset a tiny minority of the population is never a good idea.
Thanks for the link Igneococcus

I've just written almost this exact paragraph ( and more!) as comment on a financial investing survey commissioned by the captured FCA. Only asked gender. Will skew data inappropriately.

Pink News report

“It represents a deviation from the government’s stated position and would be a U-turn should it be implemented,” Walker claimed. “Worse, the experience of those working in the field suggests that far from improving data quality, the measures promoted by this report would make data collected on sex and gender far less reliable.”

Idiots.

Are those mentioned in PN saying more of the quiet bits out loud? That some people will simply lie about their sex? That there will now always be a group of people who feel so entitled to distort data being collected for policy making and assessment of needs that they will simply lie?

Operation: Let them speak.

Data on sex is vital across a range of domains, including health, criminal justice, education and employment. In recent years, confusion over the concepts of sex, gender and gender identity has led to a loss of robust data on sex

Yeah, they can go in the same box as the trans people trans women who say they would continue to use single sex spaces for the opposite sex women even if a dedicated third space were provided for them.

"the UK government, researchers, funders and public bodies need to recognise this Trumpian intervention for what it is: an attempt to erase trans and non-binary people from existing in data.”

This is real 'up is down' stuff. The scientific need is to reveal people's sex and, if relevant to the topic, trans status, medical history, etc. Trans lobby wants to erase its own existence by pretending they've always been at war with Eastasia the sex they claim to be. And yes, they will lie, if someone doesn't stop them. You can do it, Wes!

Dropping in an example of sexual offences for which 850 men a month are arrested. We’re told that 80% aren’t jailed (no information about convictions) and that “830,000 adults in the UK, 1.6% of the population, pose a threat to children “. From figures like these arrest rates, the dominant majority is men but the language obscures this. NB that % should have been quoted as the adult population as per the linked source. So, that would indicate that 2.5-3% of adult men pose some degree of sexual risk to children.

If official statistics report this so nebulously then how can we begin to address it or understand risk?

I work for the NHS and someone has put posters up for SEEN on the toilet doors.

I’d love to know who it is. Anyhow, thought I’d share

That's great WingBingo. The NHS is doing so much damage with all this that a reset is essential.

God that whole article!!
^^
Dr Barrett also likened the idea of segregating people based on sex, such as in hospital wards, to being the same as segregating people based on race.
He said if a woman calls the police because a transgender person is present in the toilet, “it is exactly the same as if you were to call the police and complain that there is a black person at the toilet and they’ve got to come and do something about it”.

how are they still getting away with peddling such dangerous performative fuckwitted bollocks?
