Anyone else seen this? The white guy in the bar talking about how his mind was so warped by casual sexual encounters with Thai women & porn he wanted to BE a Thai woman being fucked by other men as he wants to feel what it was like to be The woman....encapsulates so clearly what AGP is. I don't think I've seen this better portrayed anywhere else....

Omg I love The White Lotus! Both DH and I loved the first two seasons. As Dh is still mildly "be kind" I'm totally getting him on board with this. Haha! Love it.

Hope the TRAs don't try and cancel it, but as it's made by a man I doubt that. And it's very gay positive too so they'll be confused.

I watched this the other day and was

Goggins’ face and his occasional “right…” as Sam Rockwell is talking. Priceless.

I too found this a fascinating inclusion in an otherwise very "queer-coded" show.

I don't know what Mike White, the creator and original writer of the show, feels about the wider issue, but it's a really important to have a gay man giving voice to this, at this time.

It was such a clear and logical portrayal of AGP that really shows the root of it at the heart of the trans belief system (for men at least...)

The only thing is that Sam Rockewell is clearly a man presenting as a man. The story is presented as a personal, spiritual, sex-addicts? journey. I don't think the link to trans-identitying is obvious unless you already know about it. My DH has listened to me "going on about trans things" but he didn't make the connection. Tbh, I haven't really talked much about AGP as I think it can come across a bit "conspiracy theory" and "all gay people are sex offenders".

Having said that, it's probably the first time it's ever been said out loud on national TV and it presented celibacy, sobriety and Buddhism as solutions, not transitioning so that's some massive positives 😀

This season hasn't been so good as the others IMO but that scene made up for it. Walton Goggins' reaction face was brilliant.

I watched it the other night and thought wow, AGP Central! I don't remember hearing a piece of dialogue like that in a TV show before

My XH is AGP for the same reason. He is getting surgery on the NHS to allow him to further enhance his fantasies after saying he's had gender dysphoria from childhood yada, yada. Total lie. I found all his porn search history and evidence he'd been to a sex clubs "as a slutty girl to get fucked" Until then I knew nothing.

In a weird coincidence, sort of, Goggins played a gay trans prostitute in a few episodes of Sons of Anarchy. He did his usual sterling job in the portrayal.

That scene with Rockwell telling his character’s backstory is so weird and the weirdest thing about it is that it’s not even that weird compared to what a lot of men are getting up to in recent years, thanks to the darkest areas of the internet.
