I don't know if she would try the "out of context" defence, but her comment looks so heartless and malicious.

I don't know who Emma Vigeland is. Should I care?

TheKeatingFive · 08/03/2025 12:38

I have rarely come across such a morally bankrupt person as Emma Vigeland. Her callousness would take your breath away.

The video makes the point that hardly anyone knows her, but then explains why he is responding anyway, as it illustrates something about trans-activism.

Should you care about that? Depends on your own interests or judgement of Matt Walsh commentary.

Personally I think the comment is deserving of attention for going "mask off".

Also, if you don't think you are interested in a particular thread, then maybe just find a different thread that does interest you. Simple stuff.

I was interested enough to click on the thread to read it. Unfortunately you provided very little information about the topic you thought important enough to post about and I'm not going to watch a video to find out.

Use Words.

Oblomov25 · 08/03/2025 13:05

I think Matt Walsh's video attached explains it very clearly. Emma Vigelands views.

CuriousAlien · 08/03/2025 13:26

Here's what I took from that video...

Matt Walsh calls her a "miserable, shrinking, humourless nag" whilst also claiming that trans activists disregard the harm done to others and even feel pleasure and euphoria at causing harm. Whilst mocking her subscriber numbers and advertising plant extracts. Oh and calling her very very very stupid and an imbecile and basically irrelevant and a loser. I'm also pretty sure he was reading it off an autocue. Oh and he said something about standing for common decency at one point.

I am interested in the context of her hahahaha comment though so I'll look that up.

Myalternate · 08/03/2025 13:32

Emma Vigeland is a US TV ‘personality’ that laughed at a young girl crippled by a male athlete during a match.

Walsh describes her as a miserable person that has no compassion for the young girl that was hurt because male-women should be held in high regard.

I’d call her worse.

TheKeatingFive · 08/03/2025 13:39

Well that's pretty fundamental. She was laughing at a female athlete who suffered life changing, permanent damage as a result of playing against a male athlete in a woman's sport. I have no words for someone who would make fun of that.

Arran2024 · 08/03/2025 13:45

She posted on X "hahahahahahaha" about the young woman who was partly paralysed by being spiked by a trans girl ie biological boy in a volleyball game. She was flamed for it but didn't apologise. It was a big story on X the last few days.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 08/03/2025 13:46

Are Vigeland's comments about Ms McNab, who featured in this video?

nauticant · 08/03/2025 13:54

Payton McNabb, yes: https://www.iwf.org/female-athlete-stories/payton-mcnabb/

Justme56 · 08/03/2025 14:02

She has got form. Couldn’t give a shit (a word she uses a lot) about the science or fair competition in sport. Very much I’m right and you’re wrong - with no other arguments. Very unpleasant woman.

CuriousAlien · 08/03/2025 14:04

I have looked up Emma Vigeland and in good faith I would describe her as deluded and frothing.

From what I can tell Matt Walsh is using Emma Vigeland as an object to enable his beef grifting rage baiting nonsense. Just as Emma Vigeland used Payton McNabb, just as Donald Trump also used her.

They are all part of the same ecosystem and need each other. Matt Walsh even thanks Emma Vigeland at one point. I do not think this is irony.

They should try a boxing match or getting football teams together.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/03/2025 14:06

She's a fucking idiot, and an attention seeker.

Well yes, probably but he is right about her.

That she's a "miserable, shrinking, humourless nag"?

nauticant · 08/03/2025 14:09

She's very unpleasant. She might even be more unpleasant than her co-host Sam Seder (on the Minority Report podcast).

I haven't experienced her output enough to know that, thank god. She's vile though. I'm not cheerleading for Matt Walsh here, he's a dick.

I meant Majority Report.

Fair enough. I think I'm just triggered by his language (I also now wonder if I misquoted him and he said shrieking not shrinking). I realise I had seen the really angry video of her that did the rounds a while back saying she didn't give a shit. I think she's internet sick.

Probably what's got to me is the whole "protect women and girls" line from people who call women nags or brag about grabbing them by the pussy.

But I still find the most interesting thing about this the question of how could she come to a place where her comment seems reasonable to her? I don't think she's said but reddit comments suggest the following possibilities...

Conspiracy theories about how severe Payton McNabb's injury actually was
Belief that playing sports means you've consented to the risk of injury
Seeing the injury video as transphobic and therefore anti-humanity baiting

It's probably just the last one to be fair which is not actually that interesting, just the usual tribalism.

Yes, Matt Walsh was attacking/mocking political pundits on the other side, that commonly attack him. Maybe that's just part of robust political debate, or maybe he takes it too far.

Regardless, it's not the same as laughing at an innocent person that suffered a serious injury!

The injury video, as posted by Payton McNabb herself. https://x.com/paytonmcnabb_/status/1830415945887551944

Trump's PR team's reposting of it. https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1897114580763267307

Vigeland's response. https://x.com/EmmaVigeland/status/1897324455321538638 and receipt posted below in case she deletes it.

There is no "out of context" defence for this. Vigeland's tweet is standalone, not part of a thread.
