would you say mumsnet these days is a safe space for a non-transphobic lesbian with children to hang out?

Wait I thought it was dinosaurs not dragons? ...

Aren't dinosaurs just fire-less dragons?

Boiledbeetle · 04/02/2025 22:06

Saggyknickers · 04/02/2025 22:03

What does this even mean?

We'll probably never know!

Boiledbeetle · 04/02/2025 21:19

Any chance you can translate non het cis stuff into English?

I can’t, but I have made a note of it, looks like a very decent scrabble hand to have up my sleeve when the tiles have not been kind to me.
Hopefully my opponents will agree and my score is validated and they don’t sit there scratching their heads before saying it’s actually a load of complete and utter bollocks.

Oh My God Wow GIF by The Roku Channel

I'm shocked I tell you.

A lot of vitriol about all sorts of subjects tbh. You should check out the dog owners board, or the step parenting one!

Definitely not a safe space here.

Style and Beauty is particularly, shall we say, robust.

Waystation · 04/02/2025 22:10

At last a thread about dragons - I have three they live in my big bookcase and protect my books, however, they are not fire breathing as that would be silly (books are paper). I’m feeling left out so I may add a fire breathing dragon who can live in the fireplace.

AnneLovesGilbert · 04/02/2025 22:06

Find your dragon name

It’s not an extremely classy looking site but does the job. I’m sure other dragon name generators are available.

Blaze!

My dragon name is bloody "Blaze"

I'm never going to live that down with the other dragons

Screamingabdabz · 04/02/2025 22:10

Neanderthals? Hilarious 😂

Pronouns: ug, og, oog

there seems to be a lot of vitriol going around about non het non cis stuff here

I have genuinely and honestly no idea what any of that means! 🤷‍♀️🤨 typos?

No.
Most dragons didn't breathe fire until very late into their mythology.
And it is a lair, not a den.
Smaug actually has a Smethwick accent too, which would change the films somewhat.

I have a dragon on top of my big bookcase. My cat goes up there for a chat with her sometimes.

TickingAlongNicely · 04/02/2025 22:12

Does having a fire breathing dragon reduce your energy bill?

Plus how many Mumsnet sized chickens will I need per week to feed one?

HolyPeaches · 04/02/2025 22:12

AnneLovesGilbert · 04/02/2025 21:30

I’ve just done a quiz to find out my dragon name. It’s Drogon if anyone’s interested.

That’s a very disappointing dragon name.

I’d want something like Flamey McFlameFace

StormingNorman · 04/02/2025 21:48

Possibly because the feminism board is a cesspit of transphobia. I only ended up here by mistake and I’m pissing off again now. Bye x

You're not the OP @StormingNorman How many accounts are you using?

Yes, but the bill for new sofas is astronomically high.

ETA 1 chicken of course

I want dragons too, I am going to stamp my feet and shout It's not fair until I get some.

Only outside London.
The dragon air tax is extortionate otherwise.

Healthyban · 04/02/2025 22:13

Woop woop! My dragon name is non het cis stuff! Go me!

Delphinium20 · 04/02/2025 22:13

I've recently lost my dragon and heard that MN might know something about this? Might one of you be harboring him? He's got green eyes and a purple striped tail. I painted his nails white in honor of St. Brigid, but I think that might have annoyed him and he's since run off.

Sigh. If you find him, let him know Mother misses him.

ArabellaScott · 04/02/2025 22:14

myplace · 04/02/2025 21:39

Actually having said earlier that it’s fine bar, robust discussion I’ve remembered how triggered I feel by the SPAG on the rest of the site. You should be ok on feminism and also pedants’ corner.

<Deletes snippy comment about OPs use of lower case and lack of punctuation>

Maaate · 04/02/2025 22:14

Cor such a coninkydink that all these ever so loving and tolerant posters end up on here completely by accident after what happened last night.

🤔

WearyAuldWumman · 04/02/2025 22:14

Boiledbeetle · 04/02/2025 21:28

To be fair I complained prior to the complaints of people being dragonless.

I am so very sorry for actually having dragons.

Please forgive me.

Want to buy a dragon?

It depends. Is it golden?

Vitriol, you say?

I meant safe as in feeling non marginalised or invalidated

Have you ever made the mistake of posting on AIBU, admitting to owning a toilet brush, or being autistic? There's lots of things that posters on here will "invalidate" (aka criticise) you for.

No one's fist will fly through the screen into your face though, unlike what might happen to a gender-critical lesbian at Pride.
