There have been many threads about Sarah Jane Baker, and there is an existing thread about the (nationwide) Women's Marches on Sunday.

East Sussex WRN
What happens when you join #UKWomensMarch because you are worried about #VAWG and then you raise concerns that violent torturer Sarah Jane Baker is a speaker at the London march? One of our members was thrown out of the #UKWomensMarch for doing just that. https://x.com/WRNEastSussex/status/1879634795086672173

and

Women's Rights Network - WRN
Following reports from a number of our members, we are very concerned about the real aims of the so called UK Women’s March taking place in cities around the UK on January 18th. A march that purports to be about women, and to be raising concerns regarding violence against women, is welcoming into its midst a convicted violent criminal, whose hostility and threats towards the women who call him out is well known. We are also concerned that any women who raise their concerns are instantly removed and made unwelcome.

I know not everyone is on twitter, so wont see comments.

But thought this so extraordinary that it was worth at least a thread title in the hope the media will pick up on it. And alert others who haven't seen this.

There is also discussion on the FWR thread mentioned above. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5228413-the-womens-march-thats-all-about-the-men

If anyone wants to let them know your reation to this

UK Women's March

UK Women's March is an intersectional movement for women's rights, founded by a small group of women dedicated to amplifying the voices of women everywhere.

I did find thread 2 of that original thread and posted but no-one has seen it yet. Totally agree with what you say.

IwantToRetire · 22/04/2025 21:35

This is being promoted by UKWM.

I wont upload the image as it is offensive and deliberately misleading and insulting.

It's going to be awkward if they are claiming that complying with UK supreme court ruling means you are a Nazi to them

Posting this, that was pasted into another talk board (Just the Talk), from a poster who says he came across this one radical feminist site. It might actually be from Mumsnet who knows. It's a poster who is female and lesbian describing her experience of TRA "transbians":

“a whole separate rant that I won't include because this is getting so long already: no one talks about how so many transbians are former incels, mens rights activists, and literal neo nazis. Sometimes they joke about it, they know it's a thing. but they don't want cis women to know about it. I cannot trust someone who previously spent years promoting misogyny in a patriarchal world that's extremely receptive to it.”

“but a lot of transbians are really rough around the edges. I have often wondered exactly what about womanhood they relate to that was powerful enough for them to transition. I hate getting into HST/AGP stuff, but all the transbians I know are really into video games, anime, and bdsm (and that's basically where their interests end) and don't really know anything about women's history or culture. It's weird and I can't relate. In person, they don't get social norms, they often say inappropriate sexual things in a non-sexual context, frankly they cannot groom themselves (please wear deodorant!) and then they blame it on autism. Honestly, it's a lot.“

I've seen elsewhere a poster quote (on twitter, when I used it) that there is a pipeline from alt right to Trans Activism. Has any research been done into it?

I have always said (and often post this) but it is worth remembering that the TRAs would never have been as sucessful as they had been, if they weren't building on the long standing traditional MRAs.

And of course the MRAs are loving it, because no longer can it be said that only old men and reactionary young men think women are second class citizen's but now they have a bright new on trend movement to tell them that they were always rights about women not knowing their place as handmaids to men's wants and wishes.

Exactly. They are all basically incels of another flavour.

Thanks for posting. I did lurk on their facebook page and it just didn't make sense. Some unknown core group directing things, and presumably this name change.

I wonder if all the local area groups agree with this.

But on one level please it no longer pretends to be about women.

But feel sorry because at the start quite a few women in different areas felt like they were part of women's activism.

Now they are part of ..... what?

Yes, me as well.

myplace · 12/08/2025 06:37

That first sentence needs amending.
We are NOT a women’s organisation…
We are an organisation for some special men and women…
We are an organisation for people
We are an intersectional organisation

So who is that? And what name has she lost? Women’s March? Intersectional March?

I have no idea.

I assume it is the woman who first started the UK Women's March and was surprised that some women were saying that men could never be women.

But as she had control of the edit button on the facebook page, andyone who posted even the mildest, women only is a positive way to organise.

Also, and in fact, respect her right to do that, it isn't really organised as a politcal movement or whatever, more like events management.

But as I said up thread, now the the word women / woman is no longer part of its name, it really doesn't seem worth getting upset about.
