There have been many threads about Sarah Jane Baker, and there is an existing thread about the (nationwide) Women's Marches on Sunday.

East Sussex WRN
What happens when you join #UKWomensMarch because you are worried about #VAWG and then you raise concerns that violent torturer Sarah Jane Baker is a speaker at the London march? One of our members was thrown out of the #UKWomensMarch for doing just that. https://x.com/WRNEastSussex/status/1879634795086672173

and

Women's Rights Network - WRN
Following reports from a number of our members, we are very concerned about the real aims of the so called UK Women’s March taking place in cities around the UK on January 18th. A march that purports to be about women, and to be raising concerns regarding violence against women, is welcoming into its midst a convicted violent criminal, whose hostility and threats towards the women who call him out is well known. We are also concerned that any women who raise their concerns are instantly removed and made unwelcome.

I know not everyone is on twitter, so wont see comments.

But thought this so extraordinary that it was worth at least a thread title in the hope the media will pick up on it. And alert others who haven't seen this.

There is also discussion on the FWR thread mentioned above. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5228413-the-womens-march-thats-all-about-the-men

If anyone wants to let them know your reation to this

UK Women's March

UK Women's March is an intersectional movement for women's rights, founded by a small group of women dedicated to amplifying the voices of women everywhere.

I cams across this by chance and am stunned (well not really) by the outright defence of SJB being invited to speak, and it was all the fault of transphobes on mumsnet that it didn't happen!

Transphobes were organizing on forums like Mumsnet, continually infiltrating the chat. Although the organisers removed them from the list, more transphobes kept coming on.

Should really stop being surprised but saw the anouncement of a Vigil for IWD in Northhampton organised by Women's Alliance Northampton, which they say is led by Northants Lesbian Society.

So I thought this sounds like local grass roots organising and went to find out more on the Northants Lesbian Society FB page.

There they describe themselves as "a local group for lesbians and WLW in the Northamptonshire area. Trans and nonbinary inclusive!"

If memory serves, the Alliance for Workers Liberty hated the SWP for reasons I can't quite remember, but it seems both are aligned on the Trans thing as them being the Most Oppressed Group Ever and therefore eligible for assorted gestures of solidarity

Meanwhile The Communist Party of Britain got endorsed by (checks) billionaire JK Rowling for their gen critical stance

Although they rapidly put out a tweet rebutting her

I will not go to events this year where I live due to the continual inclusion of men promoted by the left. although there is always a radical feminist block, we are attacked and threatened by men. Locally the left small party want to organise something for IWD. I have offered to do a talk on why sex specific spaces are important for women, and why men in them present a danger. Pretty sure I won’t be doing it!

MrGHardy · 25/02/2025 07:00

Just imagine the outrage if anyone said "punch a transwoman". Never mind that person that being given such a platform. The hypocrisy remains huge in gender ideology.

IwantToRetire · 25/02/2025 17:06

I am now more concerned that this poison towards sex based rights is being spread by those conned into UK Women's March without realising the motives of the originator.

So now in Northampton a group that has called itself a Lesbian group is in fact including men.

Supportive places and groups for lesbians throughout the UK are getting fewer and fewer. Now it seems if there are any new ones they will only be for those who accept men who "identify" as lesbian.

This is their new position statement (sorry not on their web site, and only the graphic image they have released).

It has been applauded on their facebook page with many TW saying how pleased they are to be welcomed.

Well that is clear and honest. They are free to plough their furrow. I will continue to plough a different one.

Yes, agreed.

They should have been open from the start.

And obviously anyone who disagrees wont have their opinion published.

But leaves us all with more time to focus on the more important issue of women's sex based rights!

"Gender critical rhetoric will not be tolerated ... the fight for equality cannot be won if anyone is excluded"

OK, then.

"Gender critical rhetoric will not be tolerated ... the fight for equality cannot be won if anyone is excluded"

OK, then.

They should be a bit careful if they are a group seeking to discriminate against a belief.

As we know, religion/belief is a protected characteristic. It's exactly the same as stating you won't tolerate Jews or Catholics.

BackToLurk · 01/04/2025 07:56

It’s not a women’s movement, it’s a people’s movement.

Igmum · 01/04/2025 08:48

Not even that. It’s a special menz movement. I don’t think women’s needs will get a look in with these special people around.

AnSolas · 01/04/2025 12:34

The language about saferty and hate speech from an organisation which decided to center a male who calls for real actual physical VAWaG🙄

Actions speak louder than any fluffy sounding policy which is aimed to ensure women who dont parrot the agreed creed are not allowed a voice.

PriOn1 · 01/04/2025 13:02

“This isn’t about silencing anyone’s voices”…

… well only those pesky women anyway, and they don’t really matter…

Odd how they can’t hear themselves.

ArabellaScott · 01/04/2025 14:36

These are not serious people, to use a common phrase.

moto748e · 01/04/2025 14:45

a local group for lesbians and WLW

What's WLW? Women who love women?

ArabellaScott · 01/04/2025 14:49

Yep. Although if it's this particular group using the phrase, it is in fact 'anybody at all'.

moto748e · 01/04/2025 14:52

Ta. Thought it might be a tautology. But, as you say, meaningless in this context.

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 01/04/2025 14:57

This policy is not about silencing anyone's voice - it's about everyone feeling safe and respected

Unless you happen to believe that biological men are biological men

NoBinturongsHereMate · 01/04/2025 16:53

ArabellaScott · 01/04/2025 14:49

Yep. Although if it's this particular group using the phrase, it is in fact 'anybody at all'.

Indeed. 'Women (or men) who love women (or men)'.

There was a group who was holding an event for IWD.

The group was called a lesbian group, the event was about lesbians, but they advertised it and them as being trans inclusive.

There's a whole generation, or more, have grown up with the Stonewall mantra as their reality.

Sad Angry

Projectme · 16/04/2025 21:28

I'm trying to find the other bigger thread about the 'womens' march but haven't found it yet...but I see the FB page has lit up again, following today's ruling and how TWAW irrespective of the law 🙄 a lot of the FB City groups are planning protest marches...

IwantToRetire · 17/04/2025 18:36

I think the other thread filled up, but went to look at their facebook page.

You are right. It ss totally given over to organising pro trans demostrations etc.

Not one post saying the ruling is good for women, but we still support trans people.

How did all these people get so brain washed into immediately seeing a win for women's rights is somehow anti trans.

It just makes it seem that the trans narrrative isn't really about individuals leading a life the want, but about demanding that women validate their choice.

(If anyone isn't on facebook and wants to see the number of events being organised to support down trodden trans women check this bluesky account https://bsky.app/profile/whatthetrans.com/post/3lmwvjkupl22c )

What The Trans?! 🏳️‍⚧️ (@whatthetrans.com)

Planned action! Protest planned at parliament square on Saturday at 1pm to protest supreme court ruling.
