How many MNers will join me in applying for a GRC??

QueenDoria · 29/12/2024 23:40

having read on another thread that it only costs £5 to apply for a GRC, how many MNers will join me in applying to ‘become’ a man?
one’s legal status as a mother will not change, and I’m sure we’ll all see a 20% uplift in our wages…
We might get turned down if the panel gets an inkling we might be insincere, but, for the sake of a fiver, we could swamp the application process…

Ava, mate, the pass rate for the driving test is 47%. Apparently the pass rate for applying for a GRC is around 80 or 90%.
my manly confident results in me being confident I’m going to nail any test I attempt.
im going for it.

Yes, exactly. Hope you are keeping a dossier. Get a nice manly leather bound one.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/01/2025 10:54

But since you're here, Ava, perhaps you could tell all us make-up-less, trouser-wearing, power-tool-owning short-haired women what it is that "living as a woman" is? That would be super helpful.

Call me Mystic Meg, but I don't think Ava will be doing this.

QueenDoria · 01/01/2025 10:56

Ava might not have the answers on his/her own. So if anyone else could answer that would be helpful…

What's silly is the preposterous notion that anyone can live as the opposite sex to the one they were born and by doing so they magically are the opposite sex.

AlisonDonut · 01/01/2025 10:57

You could probably get Chat GPT or Grok to create a letter for you.

I feel attacked. I got a Chainsaw last year to add to my collection. Just dropping that in there for no reason at all.

Apparently the average pass rate for the driving test in the UK is 48%.

Dismissing people's comments on the monetary cost of these evaluations is a very privileged position to take. When a passport costs £88 - £100 to obtain it seems somewhat unreasonable that a powerful group of lobbyists is able to get the state to subsidise the cost of their certificate claiming that they're the opposite sex to their birth sex.

It's not "silly" to point out all the hazards that this nonsensical process is causing to society - especially the safeguarding risks, the dangers to children, the decriminalisation of indecent exposure and voyeurism and more. When you're faced with an ideology that uses bullying, threats and intimidation as their modus operandi, humour is an excellent antidote.

No.

OPs comment on the cost was nothing to do with privilege. It was a statement that the more something costs the more important it is.

This thread is not pointing out hazards to society, it's is mocking the process of gaining a GRC and the trans people that apply for them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/01/2025 11:04

Would you prefer that people point out the hazards to society?

Good grief it's like conversing with a five year old.

The whole basis of mansplaining is being a man when explaining something to a woman. You haven't got your GRC yet so unfortunately you're still a very misguided woman

larklane17 · 01/01/2025 11:05

A Chainsaw collection? Wow. That beats the milkman I used to have in North Wales who had an impressive collection of knives.

I was always a little worried about cancelling my deliveries.

I don't think you have to do anything to convince GenderGP that you're trans other than pay the fee.

Go and show us how easy it is then and show us your GRC! 😂

So you similarly think all "trans women" are men until they get a GRC, then? Not sure many TRAs would agree!

Interesting!

@AngelAva has just confirmed that all those without a GRC remain their legal and original natal sex. So TW without a GRC are men/male who should stay out of female spaces. Similarly, TM without a GRC are women/female.

Thanks for that, Ang, it is probably the only thing we agree on.

AngelAva · 01/01/2025 11:11

Brefugee · 01/01/2025 10:13

The silly ones here are the ones who fervently believe that a GRC can make you the opposite sex.

There are very real concerns being raised on this thread. Several people have discovered for the first time what the so-called spousal veto actually means. So thank you to the people who have calmly explained it.

But since you're here, Ava, perhaps you could tell all us make-up-less, trouser-wearing, power-tool-owning short-haired women what it is that "living as a woman" is? That would be super helpful.

Bonus points if you could also help us with explaining how it is right that one marriage partner should be allowed to force the other into a same-sex marriage against their will?

Luckily, no one is forced into a same sex marriage against their will.

The GRC can not be issued until their spouse consents. If the spouse does not consent the person transitioning must get the marriage annulled before their GRC is issued.

If for some strange reason the spouse consents then decides they're unhappy in a same sex marriage, they can just get divorced can't they. No one can be forced to be married to someone in the UK.

This is exactly the kind of misinformation that gets spread by GC women to whip up hatred.

Are you saying that a man who identifies as a woman and doesn't have a grc is still a man. Seems a tad transphobic.

How transphobic of you - don't you know you're not allowed to ask to see proof of someone's trans status?

If the success rate is 80% say, then surely you mean 'trans and non-trans' people? What makes a person 'more trans' than the people that are not trans?

Are they trans before they apply, or only when successful?
What happens to the people that are rejected? Are they still 'trans'?
What grounds would they be accepted or rejected on?

So why are TRAs trying to remove this clause in the GRA?
