Zoe Watts. BBC report is misleading.

I cannot understand how this report isn’t considered to be misleading. Anyone who didn’t know would have no idea that Zoe Watts is a man who claims to be a woman. Surely the BBC should be obliged to make this clear even if they do use ideological language to make the point.

Maybe Marianna Spring should apply her fact checking skills to this story. YANBU btw but the BBC is a captured cesspit, on this and other issues, and sadly like many outlets has destroyed its credibility.

There is a thread about this person from 2021. There is also this DM article suggesting Lincs Police recorded their crimes as being committed by a woman.

Good grief. I thought the MoJ weren't putting violent men in prison with women? Especially men who threaten violence against women?

If he went to prison 2021/22 then perhaps that predated the updated rules from the MoJ.

They still don't totally preclude violent men from going to women's prison, though, as far as I can make out.

Kept separate except if they say they feel like they're actually a woman.

If he's been remanded doesn't that mean he's been sent to a prison? Iirc there's another man, who killed his male partner with a samurai sword, who was remanded to a woman's prison. He identified as a transwoman and the man who was murdered used to but had desisted. That crime definitely post dated the change to the rules about which prison tw get sent to. I think as it's remand it must be a loophole that the activists exploit.

I was wondering the same thing. I damn well hope he's in a men's prison this time.

This little treasure is local to me. Lincoln police fb page were writing about a 38yo female arrested for firearm offences. The name rung a bell with a me and I googled and sure enough, remember them from the last time.

However I'm not sure the bbc could have found out (though I'm sure they'd be very suspicious) because like I say all the official police statements say woman. And comments on the fb post are turned off which is unusual.

Hopefully in remand in a male prison not a womens prison.

They could try looking at the mug shot. Personally I find male pattern stubble to be a bit of a clue.

The same obfuscation over the alleged killer's sex but he seems to be remanded at HMP Lewes which, iiuc, is a men's prison😊 So, I'm happy to have misremembered that and, hopefully, it means the fragrant Zoe will also be residing at His Majesty's pleasure in a bloke's gaol.
