Zoe Watts. BBC report is misleading.

I cannot understand how this report isn’t considered to be misleading. Anyone who didn’t know would have no idea that Zoe Watts is a man who claims to be a woman. Surely the BBC should be obliged to make this clear even if they do use ideological language to make the point.

Zoe Watts, who had worked as a police community support officer for more than eight years, was arrested after armed police were called to her home in Lincoln on Wednesday.
She is charged with possessing a firearm when prohibited for five years, possession of a firearm without a certificate and manufacturing a firearm weapon.
The 38-year-old, of St Helen's Avenue, did not enter any pleas when she appeared at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Friday and has been remanded into custody until 13 January when she is due to appear at Lincoln Crown Court.”

Decent sentence and the judge clearly considers him dangerous.

MP Robert Jenrick got confused as to what a trans woman was, when Mumsnet interviewed him. He thought it meant a woman who wants to be a man.

I think the article is not clear as some people could read that as a lesbian woman especially with the lesbian quote in there.

It does not say which prison. Hopefully the correct one.

There is a ridiculous justice for zoe campaign which has mentioned this before and prick news reported that it was so unfair that watts wasn't housed with female prisoners.

The gun watts attempted to create was semi automatic and capable of creating a mass casualty event. I don't think they will ever be truly safe.

That article just makes the bare minimum gesture towards accuracy in relation to this man's sex. A single remark, halfway through, stating that he is a transwoman, after the misleading pronouns have already given the strong impression he is a woman, and the reference to the 'lesbian and gay community' has implied that he is a lesbian.

The BBC have amended the article. There was a reference to watts being a transwomen at the start of the article, which they have removed.

When on remand he was held in the male estate. PrickNews were aghast! I can't really see them moving Watts elsewhere.

It does still say this now, but fairly buried down the bottom: "Judge Simon Hirst described Watts – who is a trans woman – as "incredibly courteous and polite" but, passing sentence, told her it was "clear from evidence that you have an obsession with weapons"." Though the third picture (also down the bottom) makes it fairly obvious, too...

According to the Telegraph, Watts is in Downview which is a prison and young offenders institution for women!!!

Why is Watts, a man who filmed himself putting prominent “terf” faces on watermelons and smashing them, in a female prison?

He's evidently one of the fragrant "special exceptions" that the trans captured civil servants in the MoJ, prison service etc are so desperate to inflict on women in prison.

Downview is the prison with the wing specially for transwomen.

Clear from the footage how seriously the police took this and how dangerous they consider watts to be.

Thank fuck that he was caught, I dread to think what would have happened if he had assembled a fully working semi automatic.

If i remember correctly its a woman's and juvenile jail that has a trans wing because they couldn't put it in a mens prison ofcourse

Okay. Thank fuck for that.

But they share facilities, the government reckon that proper risk assessments are carried out though, so all ok. This special "trans'" wing should be on the male estate. In February this year, Watts was still in Peterborough (Male Prison, there is a female prison next door, but they are completely separate)), Now he is is Downview (a female prison, separate sleeping facilities, but they do share other facilities). On May 1st 2025 (check hansard), the Ministry of Justice stated that they haven't moved any 'transgender women' into the female estate since they took office on 4th July 2024..they are now playing fast and loose with what they mean by the 'female estate'. Unless they moved Watts after May 1st 2025, they misled parliament.

'Joanna' Rowland Stuart was also moved from Lewes Prison (male prison) to Downview between 3rd June and the 24th July 2024. So either the Tories approved it during the pre-election period or the current government did when they won the election and took office on the 4th July 2024. If the current government did it, then again they have misled parliament.

The curent policy over housing males in the women's estate is unlawful. I don't believe for one minute they are going to change it. I think they will either try to pass E wing in Downview off as a separate male facility, or they will change the Equality Act.
