I’ve had a lovely Christmas with ds1, my wonderful DIL, and my gorgeous granddaughter. The latter has been stomping round, in a T-Rex onsie, being Fierce. Ds1 did a brilliant job of Christmas dinner, and I snuck in a few treats but didn’t send my blood sugar into orbit - so a roaring success all around.

Tomorrow we head to Northumberland for a couple of days, then home on Sunday. I am looking forward to my own home with all my own stuff - it’s been lovely but I’m feeling a bit peopled out.

The blokes can leave the cakes with us and herd all those ruddy toucans (and toucan-vultures, toucan-parrots, blue walruses, hyenas etc etc etc) back to the Staunch Ally. Where I hope they'll be very happy. In their own way.
