I love this one, though. Android thinks, 'If he's bought me another pair of slippers...'.

Has Errol been anywhere near Cake recently?

Ah, that explains the cheesecake. But who's the blue creature? It's not one of mine.

There were a couple of other husbands I thought might be yours..

Yep, I'll have them as well please!

I think you'll find that it is one of the Experimentals. Definitely yours, in that case.

Looks like Android needs a sewing gerbil to fix her lab coat! I know there's a certain street cred in having a shabby lab coat but it's generally considered to work better as PPE if the sleeves aren't actually falling off.

"I see. A Magpie wants to instruct me as to how to dress correctly? Bring any gerbils near me with a needle and thread and see what happens...."

I'll say this for the gerbils. They've got guts, going into that laboratory.

Can't trust any of my menfolk not to misuse them.

OMG - maybe that's why I'm a lesbian!✂
Thank you Dr Magpie!

I'm glad we've established it wasn't me that burnt the cheesecake.

DH has staggered out of the dining room & is making coffee, having made not one but three cards! (er, why?)

And I've been wandering about the forgotten corridors of the Bluey & discovered we have a candle-making workshop...

Edited

I should have said! The gerbils opened it for us after my candle-making course last week.

Seems like a perfectly valid reason to me. Good scissors are important!

Peace is restored now between Android and the gerbils. It was all a silly misunderstanding. Plus, they managed to mend her lab coat in the end. She's left it in the lab for her next bout of evil scientific experiments.

I can see we are extremely busy doing all the Xmas prep, 1950’s style.

You lot are such a bad influence ……

ErrolTheDragon · 21/12/2024 19:33

DH is left handed so he mostly leaves scissors alone. (Ive asked him if he'd like some left handed ones, he says he can use ordinary ones...well...kinda...)
Unfortunately instead he's liable to use kitchen knives instead.

DeanElderberry · 21/12/2024 19:44

I hope the gerbils are going to go full Tailor of Gloucester on Tuesday night and embellish every waistcoat (or labcoat) in the Bluestocking.

My left shoulder joint's a bit graunchy & I have to oil it every so often if it isn't to seize up completely, OK?

Has the AI discovered a cache of photos of realistic women? Thank goodness for that.

My apologies, Android. My left shoulder is like that too, although oiling it doesn't usually do much.

DeanElderberry · 21/12/2024 20:03

The bloke with the dreads that look exactly like the hairballs Oscar barfs up is a bit offputting.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 21/12/2024 20:06

I was checking them out, Dean. They ARE the hairballs Oscar barfs up. I'd check your Ring Doorbell if I were you. (Everyone on MN except me seems to have one.)

DeanElderberry · 21/12/2024 20:12

O M G

and I don't have a ring doorbell. I suspect the voles might have nicked them for nefarious purposes, I don't really trust voles, they look so cute, act so depraved (no I have not forgiven the tulip massacre) bite so bite-ily. At least shrews are honest.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 21/12/2024 19:57

It really doesn't want to reveal the photos from its cache. Unless you remember the exact correct wording, you get pneumatic buttocks, prominent boobs, wasp waists, pouting, very long lush hair, posing, extra white teeth, scanty clothing, stereotypical and sexist pictures every time. Getting it to portray all women (no men) inside an all-women's pub is bloody difficult as well. And just when you think you've trained it a bit, it reverts to type.

So these ordinary looking women are pretty hard won. But when you get something approximating what you're asking for, a rush of dopamine floods your stupid brain and you think "oh it's really worth it", and then keep trying and trying and trying to make the AI create proper pictures.

I don't have a ring doorbell either. I had to Google to find out what they were. I have doorbell, but it doesn't work unless no one is in.
