The only thing that surprises me here is that the BBC are running the story 😮

PoundlandColumbo · 10/12/2024 00:39

Just read this, well well well, who could have predicted this?

GCITC · 10/12/2024 00:43

This has been bubbling away for some time now.

Glad the BBC are giving it some light.

redalex261 · 10/12/2024 00:54

Oh well. I'm sure they would have been keen to run this very story complete with obligatory lurid headline had it been about any other organisation.

Fact checking optional....

JazzyJelly · 10/12/2024 01:00

Shocking

I don't think fact checking is optional on this story - the LGBTQ community have been unhappy with the behaviour of the owners/managers of Pink News for a good while and this is not the only story that members of that community have been forthcoming about to the news media (with evidence and on the record quotes).

So they know the difference between men and women when it comes to:

a) providing them with a baby and
b) knowing who to allegedly sexually assault?

borntobequiet · 10/12/2024 07:38

Ah, an influential news outlet harbours sexual predators and misogynists.

Pot/kettle/black.

"As well as interviewing 33 people who worked at PinkNews between 2017 and 2024, we have also seen a variety of evidence including official written complaints, private emails and WhatsApp messages sharing staff members’ concerns, plus doctors’ records referring to stress and mental health struggles attributed to the work environment at PinkNews."

Sounds like they've tried to fact check?

Come on! This subject is extremely topical, of course the BBC would have run it if it was about another well-known organisation. If it's particularly newsworthy, that's because Pink News has always branded itself as ultra-inclusive.

Cerialkiller · 10/12/2024 07:54

I mean...usually I would give people the benefit of the doubt...but that's a LOT of former employees.

Sounds like it was an open secret. If the BBC are reporting it then i have very little doubt it isn't true as otherwise there would be more 'balance' in the story.

WarriorN · 10/12/2024 08:14

Is this a documentary or a news report on iPlayer?

Feels like they're going all out..

PinkNews bosses accused of sexual misconduct
Slothtoes · 10/12/2024 08:16

Aside from the multiple allegations of sexual harassment… Asking their female members of staff to be their surrogates. Wow. It’s like the cherry on the top of the exploitation cake.

TheCoolOliveBalonz · 10/12/2024 08:34

Can't believe Keir Starmer was involved in their award show. He really is a weak minded twat.

PoundlandColumbo · 10/12/2024 09:06

One by one they fall.

"Representatives for Mr Cohen and Dr James told the BBC they were not able to provide a statement at this time, but that their position is that the allegations are false."
Strange wording.Confused

Clearly so ultra-inclusive they include sex pests.

Tbh I doubt it.

Finding out that people have been subjected to sexual abuse, workplace bullying and misogyny isn't really a cause for celebration. It's more wry smile territory.
