The quoted comments from the congresswoman are brilliant

First trans member lawmaker blasts GOP after bill blocks bathroom use

A trans war has broken out on Capitol Hill after a Republican lawmaker proposed a measure to block transgender women from using biological women's restrooms in the U.S. Capitol.

Oh look, libel.

What?

What is your response to @UtopiaPlanitia's post which that quote was taken from?

I'm sure you didn't fail to see it, but it's all a bit inconvenient for your argument, isn't it?

DeanElderberry · 22/11/2024 08:09

There is a particular category of people who tend to do that.

There is, but there are also women (actual XX chromosome female women) who will do bizarre things to please men, including their own abusive (Y chromosome male) partners. That's up to them, but I'm not going to let involve me it.

DeanElderberry · 22/11/2024 07:54

I have never seen a woman take a selfie in a public loo and if I did I'd think there was something deeply wrong with her. I don't think men would take to a man doing it in public loos either.

Me neither Dean. Always odd to see arguments on a feminist board supporting men in women's sport, men in women's changing rooms, showers and toilets, claims that TW are really women, repeated comments about genital checks and uncaring about men cheating their way into women and girls sports. Let alone a lack of awareness of the mental vulnerability & safeguarding needs of young people thinking their bodies are wrong and they need a "sex change"
None of these positions centre women and children do they?

I find it's very much a case if when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

Lots of girls take selfies in bathrooms. I certainly do. Why is the selfie taking an issue?

Really Pink? I never have, and have never seen anyone else do it. Honestly if I saw a woman do this I’d think it was odd - yet men in women’s bathrooms seem to do it a lot 🤷‍♀️

It's common.

Even this lady cop does it!

Libel? Can a question be libellous?

If you are going to spread libel about me, I have zero interest in replying to you. Best wishes.

Like many things that word doesn’t mean what you think it does! 😆

I feel we have reached this point now

Since I have personally been a part of a lawsuit where women were accused of libel by a man who had sexually assaulted them, (we won, btw), I know what libel is.

Asking a question of how I am protecting women by encouraging predatory men to enter women's spaces is saying I am encouraging predatory men to enter women's spaces.

Which is untrue, injurious to my reputation, and thus, libel.

If Crone wanted to ask it in a general sense, she would be silly and wrong, but not libelous.

She’s posting it because it’s NOT common - she’s being provocative 🙄.

NotBadConsidering · 22/11/2024 08:33

How can there be damage to your reputation when no one knows who you are?🤣

So we’re responsible for America’s failed gun control, failed abortion, and libelling anonymous avatars on t’internet now.

Just google "how to take great restroom selfies."

It is very common esp among the younger set. Bathrooms tend to have excellent lighting that make for great selfies.

And she’s a cop in Portland, America’s gender woo capital. It’s probably city law that you have to post a selfie in a public space.

No. I have children who are part of “the younger set”. They aren’t posting bathroom selfies. They want to look glam, not remind people that they use the toilet.

NotBadConsidering · 22/11/2024 08:38

Getting a camera out in a public toilet or changing space is inappropriate and weird whoever is doing it, and the idea that a load of gen Z TikTokers doing justifying men doing it in women’s spaces is creepy AF.

The only bathroom selfies I’ve seen are those on X and posted by TiMs feeling euphoric about invading women’s spaces. Apart from those threatening posts where they were in female toilets wielding baseball bats

PinkChesnut · 22/11/2024 08:41

"It's not common.
If it is common, it's only in one city where it's the law.
And if it's common in multiple cities, it isn't outside of TRA circles.
And if it is common outside of TRA circles, it's only to Gen Z!
And if it's not just Gen Z, it's clearly TRA's trying to justify trans women's behaviour!"

It doesn't really matter whether Nancy Mace is a decent and sincere person or a terrible one. It doesn't matter whether women take selfies in toilets or not. All that matters is that women's toilets (and other women's spaces) should be for women and girls, not men. Mace is right, and everyone knows she's right. Even nutcases like AOC know deep-down that she's right, which is why they come out with hysterical rantings rather than rational argument.

The good thing about Mace - whether you like her or not - is she says this stuff clearly and unambiguously, no beating about the bush. That's why the usual suspects are going full on toddler tantrum.

StealthSpinach · 22/11/2024 08:42

I’m going to need some clarification:

“isn’t serious” = is not serious
“unserious” = not serious; lighthearted

I am genuinely asking what the difference is.

It matters because her actions have context and do not occur in a vacuum, and cause harm to cis women and girls in other ways.

Stop trying to make “fetch” happen. Women and girls don’t post bathroom selfies. Just TiMs who are enjoying the experience

One google search would disabuse you of this notion. My DD regularly sends me snaps of her daily fit taken in her office bathroom, or in the sink area at her gym.

Where is that definition from, please? I didn’t find it when I was trying to make sense of what was meant.

StealthSpinach · 22/11/2024 08:51

Also - please stop with the use of “cis”, as it is as offensive. Thank you.

It's slang i picked up off my DD and her friends.

Here is a reddit post. It's an insult saying the other person isn't particularly worth respecting.
