A trustee and PR director of Britain’s oldest breastfeeding charity has resigned after it introduced an inclusivity policy that allowed men to attend support groups.

Good on her for staying true to her beliefs.
I used to run BF clinics (not LLL). Men were not allowed as some women weren't comfortable getting their boobs out so I could help in front of men. No one complained.

I applaud her for standing by her principles.

Good. Time the LLL were properly called out for prioritising a male fetish over women needing support with breastfeeding.

i think this is a really stupid move but my question is what is the likelihood of a male wanting to breastfeed in the Uk.

i can not imagine this will be a reality please correct me if i am wrong.

Oh Christ please . No we do not want men at our breastfeeding support groups, which are safe spaces for women going through all sorts of incredibly hard challenges around breastfeeding . Well done her.

No i wouldnt be happy breastfeeding in a breastfeeding group infront of people born with a penis who aren't my husband. I know people will say oh but you can do it in public, but the few times i did most men avoided looking at me and i was with a friend or family member who could “protect me” if someone got funny. I wouldnt want some voyeur who cant bf sit there pretending while watching us in a private space. Male or female. Very sad LLL is prioritising the feelings of a tiny minority. They should hold this line for those that actually lactate.

I wish this wasn't real as well @Bannedontherun but sadly pervy blokes are allowed to breastfeed babies their drug induced fluids and no one gives a flying fuck about the baby's health because it's all sooooo validating. And NHS funded obviously.

I didn't even drink coffee when I was breastfeeding.

LLL has also removed the word woman from their breastfeeding bible. The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is now The Art of Breast feeding (from this Oct iirc) to be inclusive. Don’t go and upset all those breastfeeding men now!
They have been on the Kool Aid for years, I’ve unfollowed them on all platforms after the book was re-named.

Okay womenz i was just hoping beyond hope, that this would not be a thing, need to have no more examples though it is just fucking gross.

It's not just the trans situation, some women wanted their male partners with them - I've noticed that with other support groups too, and I do think that sometimes having your partner with you means you don't socialise with other women as effectively

It's horrible watching all the groups that were painstakingly built by women being destroyed from the inside because men insist they have to be included.

Good for both the trustee and the founder, though.

@ArabellaScott I think the key to all of this nonsense as i have said elsewhere is to pick up our football and go elsewhere, set up new groups that specifically exclude bio males.

BTW the NCT was my preferred option back in the day, and given its title i struggle to see how they could stretch their mission to include thems other types of women.

If we get shoved of a bench build a new one that is exclusive.
