Chris Sherwood will take up the new position on 20 January 2025, having served as Chief Executive of the RSPCA, the world's oldest and largest animal protection charity, since August 2018. I have bad vibes.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the new CEO of the NSPCC

Complete with pronouns in his bio, Chris Sherwood’s appointment demonstrates gender ideology reigns supreme.

The organisation founded to safeguard children from harm now poses a child safeguarding risk.

Jobs that give access ...

Imnobody4 · 15/10/2024 11:19

I'm hoping he's learnt a bit more about Trans stuff in the last year.
First question does he understand safeguarding? No experience with children.

This is the organisation that Sherwood tweeted his support of
Charity So Straight: ‘The charity sector is not necessarily always an easy place to be’ (civilsociety.co.uk)

MrsOvertonsWindow · 15/10/2024 12:46

How disappointing. After their experience of getting on the wrong side of safeguarding with their staff member rubber fetish wanking in the workplace scandal, you'd have hoped they'd have appointed someone with zero interest in transitioning children and a balanced approach to safeguarding.

Evidently not.

“I am thrilled to be joining the NSPCC. I firmly believe in a society where all children are not just protected from harm, but they have the support, kindness and respect needed to live happy, joyful and fulfilling lives and be the best version of themselves".

Hmm 🤔

We’re dedicated to being a place where LGBTQ+ people can openly be themselves. Celebrating Pride and supporting our LGBTQ+ community is part of our commitment to being an inclusive charity and to celebrate our diversity. Pride events are important community celebrations that we're proud to be a part of and are just one of the ways we celebrate the community all-year round.

This part is wrong:

"The organisation founded to safeguard children from harm now poses a child safeguarding risk."

They pose a continuing risk. Another episode not already on here is this:

https://x.com/mermaidsgender/status/1313792432228782080?s=46&t=WHoOZZ_3Kv5G6-FyQuvE0LQ

The NSPCC didn't have the balls to host the joint statement and Barnardo's have scrubbed the link but it's still about if you look.

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 15/10/2024 13:25

I'll post it separately as it might get removed as it's archived (multiple times, in fact):

I clicked on the Twitter link at the top of the thread and got this advertisement tweet including in its replies:

✨ Introducing our Anime 2025 Calendars ✨ Which title is your favourite? t.ly/AnimeRange?twclid=21aiq8xag4ziy5qk052xbfgamr🗓️ #Anime #Manga

ArcheryAnnie · 15/10/2024 13:52

Well, @ResisterOfTwaddleRex is right - they are a continuing risk, not a new risk.

They've been signed up to this gender twaddle since at least 2016, when they put a whole load of gender guff and false information (including at that tome recommending Mermaids) on their website and the associated Childline website, and they admitted then that they had no in-house expertise.

ResisterOfTwaddleRex · 15/10/2024 13:55

Went to find their awful consent tweet that they had to delete. Found this. From 2014:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2847519/Self-confessed-paedophile-39-admits-sexually-attracted-children-young-FOUR-Channel-4-documentary-denies-s-committed-crime.html

This is the consent tweet they deleted:

x.com/lilylilymaynard/status/1285982284353540099?s=46&t=WHoOZ_3Kv5G6-FyQuvE0LQ

They've been rotten a long time.

Protected from harm by encouraging them to take harmful drugs and to have irreversible surgery? Sorry, am I being thick - I can't quite see the logic of that.

I wish these organisations would just do their jobs that they were originally set up for.

In my previous career, I had lots of dealings with the RSPCA and they failed in their remit on a few occasions. It seems they were too busy virtue signalling.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 15/10/2024 16:27

Worth remembering that the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre appointed an transactivist as their CEO. They ended up paying large amounts if compensation, legal fees and admitting that some of their vulnerable clients (women) and staff were disadvantaged because of his actions.

Imagine being a front line NSPCC social worker and seeing the new CEO spout meaningless transactivist drivel rather than indicating he understands the enormous responsibility he has for safeguarding children.

Jeez. He sounds like some sort of social media “influencer” well-being guru.

I thought NSPCC’s job title was “prevention of cruelty to children”. Not churning out half-baked platitudes about the joys of self-improvement.

In week of press reports on a horrifying trial, his self-congratulatory little homily is, at best, tone deaf.

edited: deleted reference to the nature of the trial as it’s ongoing.
