Here’s the two-page briefing from the link I just gave.

If you read it you may share in @Bannedontherun ‘s joy, and mine.

Oh fabulous stuff and Godspeed. Thank goodness there are sane voices shouting out.

Unashamedly plugging the RNLI shop RNLI Shop | Lifesaving Gifts, partly because they're wonderful, partly because it's their 200th anniversary, but mostly because they have loads of cute puffins, penguins in sou'westers, and seagulls carrying a bag of chips. They must have a spy in the BluestockingSmile

Octoberaddsagale · 23/10/2024 20:36

I’ve bought things from the RNLI shop in the past and been pleased with everything.
They also do good sales 😀

And who doesn't need a Christmas puffin?

lcakethereforeIam · 23/10/2024 21:49

Pogoing penguin 🐧

larklane17 · 23/10/2024 22:00

Great to see the RNLI being supported. They are incredible people aren't they?

I need a safe place due to reading some fuckwit's endless posts about stationary vehicles. 'Nuff said.
<Off to lurk on the thread once more, and catch up on your good conversations and pics.>

And if you don't fancy a puffin how about a head banging penguin

With a punk hairstyle. And the others in their posh black suits looking disapprovingly at it.

lcakethereforeIam · 23/10/2024 22:19

😍 although the wellies should be red.

Bluestockings & Orange Wellies: Welcome to the Degu Station!

They're not wellies, they're seaboots!Grin

lcakethereforeIam · 23/10/2024 22:52

It says wellies in the caption! My trust in the RNLI has been destroyed 😟

Boiledbeetle · 23/10/2024 22:54

lcakethereforeIam · 23/10/2024 22:19

😍 although the wellies should be red.

See I hate that! But that's cos I hate the feel of things made out of felt!

lcakethereforeIam · 23/10/2024 23:03

I hate that fabric that's man-made, felty on one side but woven on the other. It sort of creaks and it's worse than nails on a blackboard 😬

They certainly are, larklane.
Hope you feel ok wherever you are, behind the sofa maybe?Smile

lcakethereforeIam · 23/10/2024 23:50

Do we need a diagram? 😃

FuzzyPuffling · 24/10/2024 07:31

@larklane Im not sure any vehicles are stationary here ( so you're safe) They're driven by Tunnocks- fuelled quokkas, so are probably breaking all the rules of the road.

So that's what the quokkas meant when they said they were going to do donuts in the carpark😕

DeanElderberry · 24/10/2024 11:30

I got dressed in two stages yesterday, top half upstairs, bottom half downstairs because the trousers I wanted were still airing.

So far, so good. The mistake was carrying one pair of clean underpants downstairs in my pocket, but putting on a different pair fresh from the laundry basket.

So relieved I didn't get ambushed by a sneeze as I went round the shops in town this morning, the 'handkerchief' I'd have pulled out of my pocket might have startled someone.

DeanElderberry · 24/10/2024 11:32

I'm sure if it had happened in the Bluestocking the quokkas would have been tactful. Perhaps one of them could bring me a cup of tea?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/10/2024 11:36

Dh has buggered off to either London or Birmingham for the day - not sure which - so it's just me and the dogs at home. And we have microwave curries for dinner tonight - so a lazy day all round.

I may get started on knitting dh's christmas stocking toy - I have the yarn to knit Parsley the Lion, but I do need to find time when he's not around, so I can do Stealth Knitting. During the pandemic, when he wasn't ever away for the day, I had to resort to knitting like fury whenever he went out with the dogs, and hiding my work under a cushion when he came back in.

FuzzyPuffling · 24/10/2024 12:07

Oh Parsley the Lion! My favourite Herb.

And the owl...
" I'm.a very fat feathery owl called Sage,
I'm not very happy, in fact in a rage..."

Oh I hear you Sage!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/10/2024 12:45

Yes - I am definitely a Sage too, @FuzzyPuffling - with a bit of Eeyore, thrown in.

I am on the horns of a dilemma, that only the Bluestockings will be able to help me with (...with which only the Bluestockings will be able to help me...?).

I love cookbooks, and I love the Hairy Bikers, so I am really tempted to get their new cookbook - but with my new diet, I doubt there will be much in it that I can cook - I have a magpie obsession with new, shiny books - even ones I don't need.

Should I buy the book?

DeanElderberry · 24/10/2024 12:46

Will your library get it for you?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/10/2024 12:54

Ooooh - that's a good idea, @DeanElderberry! The knitting group I go to is held in a local library, so I could ask my friend there if they could get it in for me.

Wise Bluestocking!

lcakethereforeIam · 24/10/2024 13:05

Didn't the Hairy Bikers do a diet recipe book? I think it's possible that their books since then will either be diet-y or adaptable 🤞
