The GP has just rung - early - and no finger crossing is needed. She was happy for me to go onto the dapoglofizin, and is putting it on repeat prescription for me!

I'm sure it was all the good thoughts from the Bluestockings that did the trick.

Yayyy! Hope this is the start of a positive direction in your health, Woley.

All of us sending synchronised good wishes reminded me of when Beckham injured his metatarsal in 2002 and Uri Geller suggested the entire nation should touch the TV screen at the same time and that would heal itConfused
Did it work? Can't remember. Whereas concentrated Bluestocking wishes clearly did workGrin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/10/2024 14:49

The power of the Bluestockings is awesome!

Interestingly, before I spoke to the GP, I got a message from the pharmacy that my prescription was ready for collection. Maybe there is some sort of glitch in the matrix between the surgery and the pharmacy, so they got my new prescription before the GP prescribed it! Otherwise, who knows what it is! 😂

Octoberaddsagale · 15/10/2024 15:51

Hurray, @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius !
Also, I hope your bonus prescription is for something unexpectedly lovely.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/10/2024 15:59

Hurrah for Woley and Errol. The universe is surely smiling on you both today..

Will go back & read the thread but this

they got to have a ride in one of the transport planes - I think it was a Lancaster - one with the rear door that opens into a ramp, so you can fling stuff off the back in flight

is a C-130 Hercules, I think.

DH once got some woman's prescription for a thrush remedy that the GP put under the wrong name. Hope it's better than that!

Did you have to explain to a care navigator receptionist why you wanted to see the GP? Or did get an appt via an online form & explain on that?

Anyway, very pleased for you that you've got something better - hope it suits you.

Work (anonymous) annual 'satisfaction' survey today. Last page...'gender identity' man or woman, or (forget the exact wording) 'choose to identify differently'.

Choosing this gave a text box so I told them, woman i.e female sex, I don't identify in terms of 'gender identity' and that the question was somewhat discriminatory. I'm not sure the company that supplies this survey is in the U.K., and I fear no one will actually read what I said ...never sure whether taking the third option is a good idea or not.

Heroine

You are absolutely right - wise @ifIwerenotanandroid.

It was all a bit of a mess, getting the right prescription. I started on the metformin, and it upset the colitis, so I rang the surgery and left a message for the GP, and talked to the nurse during my first diabetes appointment, and she said she would pass on the message that I wanted to change to the other drug. She passed on part of the message, but no-one from the surgery contacted me - the next thing I heard was the pharmacy, saying I had a new prescription to pick up. Yippee, thinks I - she has just prescribed what I asked for without needing to talk to me. Not so. It was more metformin - so I emailed the surgery to query why I had more of the same stuff. The practice manager rang me, and I explained it all again, and she made the appointment for me to talk to the GPon the phone today.

All a bit of a rigmarole, but the right outcome in the end.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 15/10/2024 17:32

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius Glad you got there in the end.

If that was my surgery, it would've taken 3 visits, 8 phone calls (all explaining the same thing), 2 wrong prescriptions & a couple of receptionsists interrupting the GP while they're seeing a different patient because they now need to get a prescription put through urgently. And that's on a good day.

Don't get me started.

😂

A quotation from Emily Dickinson to tie together a couple of themes in recent posts, and to send good wishes to all Stockingers going through challenging times at the moment:

We never know how high we are
Till we are asked to rise
And then if we are true to plan
Our statures touch the skies

Well @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius I am having a lovely time catching up on this latest Bluestocking conversation. So many stories! So much comfort, and kindness, and solidarity, and philosophy and everything ... the two boys riding on the transport plane was especially evocative.
But no sign of that agile gold moose this time around ... ?

<Biffs through the front door loudly, plonks down on the squishy sofa, welcomes a quoka on my lap, shakes off leaves, and picks twigs from my hair, breaths slowly>

Can i have a pint of an average chardooooonay and a pile of snowballs please.

Sick of gardening now, constantly wet cold and muddy. I have no fat left on my body, happens every year.

So i need plumping up please as well, don’t eat meat, (not bothered if others here do)

Could do with a nice warm swim in a spa pool - where is it?

Oh hi everyone

Magpiecomplex · 15/10/2024 21:10

To warm you up, Banned. Extra cream (plant based if preferred) to add calories.

The spa is in the basement, just ask a gerbil to show you when you're ready.

Oh that went very weird. Tastes OK though.

Bannedontherun · 15/10/2024 21:23

Not a vegan, cannot be arsed to get out of my seat plus the quoka would be upset so not moving. Thanks all

Bannedontherun · 15/10/2024 21:23

Oh and slurp

FuzzyPuffling · 15/10/2024 21:38

Sounds like you deserve Magpie's lovely drink, and everything else offered, Banned.

I did a bit of gardening today, but evidently not at your level, as I am not fatless. More a Portly Puffin.

Banned, you have to stop feeding that quokka when you think people aren't looking!

People are starting to notice!

Gosh, Banned is terribly elegant when she gardens, isnt she? HIgh heels, pale clothes & not a hair out of place - impressive! I think there's a new TV gardening show in the offing here.
