Looking unlikely to win the Conservative leadership now and has gone very quiet about women's rights/the EA during her campaign.

Current favourite is Cleverly.

I know she had a lot of support on here so just wondering what people thought had gone wrong for her?

Sounds a bit conspiratorial on your part. I'm not sure who you think those of us with different perspectives or takes really are?

Franky, I've never come across you, or quite a few others who have posted on this thread before, on this board - but I'm certainly not some Tory plant as you seem to be suggesting. I've been posting here for many years; am an ex Labour party member and voter; and just happened to have broadened my perspective in more recent times and let go of the toxic tribalism.

Shock

I specified accounts which attempt to rewrite Badenoch, talk over her, talk over MNers, and gaslight MNers...

And @Shortshriftandlethal leaps in claim the cap as fitting them.Grin

Magnificent self-own!Grin

By the way, I don't recognise your username from very far back either @Shortshriftandlethal , and I've been on MN and on the feminism boards since it was just the one board and this were all fields.<waves hand> I have different usernames for stuff that shades into real life, and I'm not a prolific poster.

You may very well have been on the Sex and Gender board for a long time. I can easily believe it. I'm not sure what you're hoping we'll take from that?

I've name changed several times, so I have to assume you have too. I have been posting on this board, exclusively, for six years now.

TBH, I'm really not interested in this type of discussion. I'm done with tribal politics of the sort that automatically villainises people on account of their real or imagined 'alignments'. I come to Mumsnet for informed discussion and information - and for organisation around activities relating to gender ideology.

I'm not really a social media person at all. I don't do twitter, Facebook or any of that. So, I'll not be posting on here again unless someone says something that is of interest to me. Which is a shame..because i think Kemi Badenoch is one of the most interesting politicians around at present - even though she, like all of us, is not without fault.

I'm really not sure what you are talking about here at all. There have been relatively few posters on this thread. Who exactly could you be talking about?

IceQueenoftheWest · 23/10/2024 19:08

I'm fully behind Badenoch. I know she'/s not perfect but is a great candidate and enough to beat this corrupt, woman-hating shitshow of a dictatorship that scraped into power with almost no support. Go Kemi.

readysteadynono · 02/11/2024 11:26

I can only hope that no one will vote for her because of her abhorrent views. She wants to scrap our already incredibly low paid maternity leave and ‘leave it up to companies’ who have a fabulous record of great employment practices when they are ‘free’ from pesky employment laws…. Terrifying for women.

Shortshriftandlethal · 02/11/2024 11:29

I'm really pleased that Kemi won. Such a strong woman, and such a clear voice. Now she needs to get on with interrogating the government and holding Starmer to account.

Hyperbolic misinformation and nonsense.

I hope I never ever have the opportunity to be proven right.

Keep making such unhinged predictions and it is likely that you get your wish and never be proven right.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/11/2024 12:01

Well done Kemi. Now hold Starmer to account!

This has aged well. Oh well 🤷‍♀️

Cassie and her political insight. Never fails.

I've been reading a very right wing blog. It appears the right wi ng racists and left wing race grievance mongers are more or less on the same page. That a black immigrant can never fit into British society and consider themselves British. It's very sad speaking as a white Irish immigrant who considers myself British.

NecessaryScene · 13/11/2024 19:22

Still not going well for poor Kemi

I can see none of us are going to be able to resist bumping this thread for the next few years. It's a true classic.

holiverterwist · 13/11/2024 19:40

Yes, and I have NO shame😆

Shortshriftandlethal · 13/11/2024 19:44

Her first PMQs last week saw her looking really nervous, and as a result she over-did the confrontational tone........but I'm sure she'll settle into the role and learn as she goes along -as do all those appointed to such office.
