Horrific story about death due to surgical complications, was reading it and poof. Anyone know what happened. This is such important information to get out there.

The communist party aren't on board because their views are rooted very strongly in material reality. The idea of 'identifying out' of an oppressed position would be total nonsense in their eyes.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 20/08/2024 08:52

But it’s digression from Griffin.

OldCrone · 20/08/2024 08:41

I agree.

I do find it surprising that so many people who purport to be socialists are so on board with it. The individualism doesn't seem to sit well with a political viewpoint which supposedly values community and caring about all members of society. Arguing that privileged males should have everything they want at the expense of women and children seems a bit odd.

The Communist Party isn't on board with trans ideology though, and they are normally considered to be left wing.

Yes, the individualism of a free market health approach with people being allowed to do whatever they want to themselves free from government interference is a particular example of how right wing trans activism is.

“Stay out of our lives, you meddling nanny state!”

That’s what’s happened here to this young person: no government oversight, a free market, and deadly consequences.

FrancescaContini · 20/08/2024 08:54

Totally agree with your final sentence @TheKeatingFive

Trying to shoehorn correct/incorrect views into similarly binary left/right wing categories must make their brains explode. Maybe that’s why so many supporters of gender ideology get so easily rattled.

I'm a bit mystified as to why you believe the fruitfarms is a political site. I haven't seen a lot of political discussion on that site. What makes you think it's a site discussing far right politics?

This. I've occasionally visited the Farm to see what a certain vexatious litigant is up to. It's the only place that dares to carry news of him. I've never come across anything political.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/08/2024 08:59

No. That's a classic response - "You just think it's far right because you think it's horrible". It encompasses all the hate and bilge that can't be expressed on the usual sites. This hostility and ideology stems most commonly from the far right. Sorry.

No it doesn't Confused

I'm past caring about allegations of being far right. This is what happens when idiots on the internet call everything far right all the time. I don't need to justify myself, it's a waste of time.

Those costs are eye opening!

And sadly, for making extreme body modifications to healthy bodies.

And there you are.

I'm fairly happy that "my side" (whatever that is) doesn't use fruitfarms as a useful source. But whatever you think, necessary.

I’ve not seen KFs used as a useful source on these threads. Mentioned from time to time as a place where discussions about particular events or people take place that were banned elsewhere, but never as a resource. Having never been on it, I won’t comment on its political leanings.

What I will say is that the vast vast majority of useful sources on the FWR threads are published medical articles, actual clips of events, government statistics. Everything I would qualify as reliable evidence. Indeed, posters often ask for corroborating information and data and not just conjecture. It’s something I appreciate and learn from.

Also, going by many FWR comments, I’d hazard a guess that the majority of FWR posters are/were ‘liberal lefties’. Many FWR posters were saying ahead of the GE that they felt politically homeless. Myself included. I read the same about many Democrats. It’s so unfortunate that the trans liberation movement has been accepted by so many ‘progressive’ institutions without a single thought as to the wider consequences for women’s single sex spaces or children’s safeguarding. Either lazy and/or misogynistic, but totally captured.

In any event, reference to a political ‘left’ and ‘right’ (categories increasingly losing their meaning) is specious and disingenuous as the issue is not political, but about women’s rights and safeguarding children and vulnerable young people. The latter, in particular, cuts across any political category. The death of poor Griffin Sivret ought to have been easily preventable.

I saw on one of her tiktoks yesterday she said the clinic who did the surgery has a 95-100% complication rate.

She was told they only had a 45-50% complication rate.

It beggers belief.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/08/2024 09:05

Did you read "most commonly" in my post, or did you just skip that in your haste to call me out?

You have no idea, you're just repeating things you read on Reddit or whatever. It's not a "far right" site. It's frequently racist, misogynistic, homophobic but those things aren't "far right" in and of themselves. "Far right" means a particular ideology. "Far left" a different one. There is often overlap in the type of extreme action promoted.

I do like this one. The Left is making me do it!

It's not. It's just you.

Agreed, it's literally this meme.

How much are these NHS trusts fulfilling their duty of Candour to the people they are treating? www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-screening-programmes-duty-of-candour/duty-of-candour

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/08/2024 09:09

Careful @AlisonDonut you'll get deleted for "misgendering" because that's obviously the most terrible thing here.

Dygger · 20/08/2024 09:10

Oh, have they started doing that again? Explains why I've been deleted twice recently.

But it’s digression from Griffin.

Exactly.

Here we go again.

Another time when a specific, powerful example of the tragic outcome of trans ideology in real life for a real person is derailed onto a general discussion, with the added bonus of including many allegations of far-rightness.

That would make a separate, interesting thread, if people who make the far right accusations would like to bring their arguments (but first, Define Terms).

In the meantime, Griffin Sivret.

Dear gods, really?
Is there really no regulator to step in when the complications rate is so high and the consequences are so devastating?

If anything is a trans right issue, this is. They deserve the same safe standard of health care as the rest of us. All of these men and women start out with healthy bodies.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/08/2024 09:14

Reducing discussions about genderism to a binary left / right wing is very sixth form. I can hear Rik shouting “Fascist!” I get the feeling that “right wing” comments come from posters who were born a long time after the Young Ones were on TV.

Yes, or the ones who didn't get the joke.

I've never been on Kiwi Farms in my life. All the info I have on this case comes from X. No doubt I'll be told that's 'far right' also.

But here's the rub. Left leaning press will not report stories like this. The Guardian, BBC won't cover this in a million years.

So where does that leave us? These awful stories get swept under the carpet because it's politically expedient to do so? So another generation of young people have no idea what they're actually exposing themselves to when they undertake these surgeries?

RainWithSunnySpells · 20/08/2024 09:19

If you want to look at the far right, I am going to suggest that we look at Mussolini (who I hope we can all agree really was far right) and how freedom of speech was curtailed and how the press was contolled under his Fascist party. It is clear that controlling what information people were able to read, hear and see was important to him and the party.

Now, I am not saying that Null (owner of the farms) is the 'best guy in the world' as I have never met him and I know nothing about him bar listening to a Benjamin Boyce interview he gave on youtube. I will say that he is tenacious and resourceful when it comes to keeping his website going.

I am going to suggest that keeping a free speech forum going - even one that grew from documenting Chris Chan into documenting lolcows (essentially people who do stupid stuff on the internet) in general - and is very keen on archiving primary sources, is not about contolling information in the way that our 'friend' Il Duce was.

There are definitely people who want to contol the narrative that 'gender affirming care' is lifesaving. It is vital that the evidnce that this 'care' can take a healthy (physically) person and then kill them slowly and painfully is not memory holed. The truth does matter. Griffin mattered. I just find it all so heart breaking.

Absolutely.

You'd think that would be something Stonewall could help with. I would genuinely get behind that if they did.
