Just reading the thread on here for the first time. What I fail to understand is why so many contributors are so desperate for her to be a man. Someone who has lived their entire life as a woman. Beggars belief.

Can you describe to us without resorting to stereotypes how a person “lives as a woman”?

🙄The first post what a question to ask. We must be so stupid that we have no idea. Why do you want to know?

CorruptedCauldron · 14/08/2024 21:21

We’ve all had to swot up on DSDs on this board as if we’re going for Master’s degrees in biology. That’s why we know it can’t be Swyers syndrome. I blame the mainstream media and the IOC, they’re causing so much confusion with their fudging and misinformation.

OldCrone · 14/08/2024 21:21

Newsenmum · 14/08/2024 21:17

I’m pretty sure she had no idea she was ‘male’. She was born with a vulva/vagina and and went through normal female puberty and was obviously very good at her sport. It’s possible some ‘non traditional’ women on here might not realise they are xy. Are you now men?

A person with XY chromosomes can't go through a normal female puberty.

Apollo441 · 14/08/2024 21:22

HamBagelNoCheese · 14/08/2024 21:03

Fuck me are you lot still going on about this?

She is female with a DSD condition. Swyer syndrome, a rare condition where women have a vagina and uterus, but no, or under developed ovaries and XY chromosomes.

Say you have a daughter who doesn't go through puberty in the expected time frame and doctors start to run tests. At the age of 15, they find that little Jemima actually has a rare condition that means despite having female reproductive organs, she has XY chromosomes, are you going to start calling her Jerry and shouting that she's a man?

For those who are weirdly obsessed with what's in people's pants, Imane Khelif would pass your test. Or do you want everyone DNA tested at birth too?

Fuck me are you still so ignorant you are sprouting this crap. Many people have given you reasons why it can't be Swyers syndrome but for some reason some people seem ro be incapable of processing this fact. I'd just like to add that brittle bones are associated with Swyers syndrome so they'd be the first with the syndrome to be a boxer, let alone an Olympic champion.

So what do you mean by ‘live as a woman’?

niadainud · 14/08/2024 21:22

Runor · 14/08/2024 21:16

A syndrome, I understand, unlikely to leave someone able to compete at elite level sports

For what reason? Women with Swyer's can be taller than average so that may prove to be an advantage, but any extra height is not as a consequence of extra testosterone (it's a consequence of delayed puberty). They can also suffer from osteoporosis, but probably not until later in life.

HamBagelNoCheese · 14/08/2024 21:22

At no point did I say that Imane Khelif HAD swyer syndrome (I know it's floating around the www but the original source has been removed). If you can find where I stated that, please feel free to quote. I used it as an example where a person has XY chromosomes but reproductive organs of a female, and then gave a hypothetical scenario that could happen to any one of our own children, that everyone has chosen not to answer 🤔

illinivich · 14/08/2024 21:24

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 21:18

Where did you get the evidence that they went through a ‘female puberty’? Please link up that reference so we can all be assured.

As far as the IOC is concerned, female puberty could mean being of puberty age with a female passport.

Edited

So that post was completely irrelevant to a thread about Imane Khelif and therefore can be very reasonably ignored.

Charlottescobweb · 14/08/2024 21:25

@Theeyeballsinthesky She was actually born a girl at birth some women have more testosterone than oestrogen. My partner knew a woman who had hair growing out of her face and was big she could drink any man under the table. She was born a girl it took her ages to conceive a child and she was lucky she managed to have 1.

I’m sure you can provide evidence of this - I mean if you have evidence of this it would put it all to bed wouldn’t it?

Because they are willing to throw another woman under the bus to further their fascist cause.

I keep coming back here to hear their arguments, but each time what I read is hate poorly presented as women's rights.

No evidence has been made public to state she is male or female. I leave it up to the doctors.

Are you?
And even if that was so for a time, that was a long time ago.
How does it explain the Spanish coachs reaction for one
Speaking to Radio Marca, former Olympian boxer and Olympic boxing trainer Rafa Lozano revealed that he thought the inclusion of Khelif in the women’s category was unjust and dangerous to females. “I don’t see it as fair. Everyone can think what they want, but that’s how I see it,” Lozano said, recalling his observations of the Algerian during a training retreat at the sport centre CAR Blume in Madrid.
“They were doing a retreat at Blume and we couldn’t put her with anyone. We put [Khelif] with Jennifer Fernandez and it hurt her. Whoever we put [Khelif] with was injured.”
Lozano says that to avoid further injury to the women, the coaches ended up pairing Khelif up with Jose Quiles, who is one of Spain’s top male boxers, during the retreat. Quiles, 26 and one of Spain’s top boxers, was considered a more equitable match for Khelif to spar against, with Lozano noting that Khelif was only “even” after being matched against the man.'

I would think this trainer would know a fair bit more than you eh?

And how does it now justify the danger and unfairness to women beyond his and Algerias desire for Gold, ditto Taiwan?
Why is your sympathy with them?
Think about it

And arent you concernedthat the IOC is controlling everyones speech, athletes coaches like this one and the press?
Because you seriously should be. And think of the sponsorship from America well over 3 billion...

Rafael Lozano sobre Khelif y Lin Yu-Ting: "Vino al CAR y las chicas no podían boxear con ella. No es justo"

There are multiple reasons why a young person in any given culture might not experience puberty in a regular fashion, and multiple reasons why they may not be aware of what a typical experience of puberty is; it's ludicrous to try to be prescriptive on these matters.

And as far I'm aware there is no verified, publicly available information about any sex tests Imane has undergone...what sex tests have you seen about them in order that anyone can make confident assertions?

I believe that there is no reason to ignore the two tests done and analysed by two independent labs for the IBA. A medical doctor with the speciality of being a Gynecologist confirmed this.

Statements from not only the IBA, but also WBC and EBC have made the same statements. Including the all important statement that this athlete has male pubertal advantage.

You can personally choose to deny all this. And the coach in Paris. But you are trying to fit female health conditions to a male person. You declare it is ludicrous to point out that a male who didn’t start intense sport until 17 would not be impacted by activity delayed menstruation. Yeah, I don’t think so. I think you are desperately reaching for reasons in light of what you are actively dismissing.

Pogpog21 · 14/08/2024 21:28

Because it’s another example of the quick sliding erosion of women’s rights??? We want equality and it is getting harder and harder rather than easier - look at sports; look at music, look at film. It’s a joke that people like Sam smith can have their cake and eat it.

as for the other nonsense, what had that got to do with anything?

The tests mean nothing some biological women have more testosterone than oestrogen. It doesn't mean she is a man.

Fuck. Did you actually post this without a thought? Do you even understand the health condition that you are posting about vs a male being born with a difference of sex development? Your post is offensive.
