A young man called Cameron Allan has been found guilty of raping and murdering a man:

There has been some suggesting that this is the same man who held the "Decapitate Terfs" sign at a demo in Scotland.

The photo used in the Sky News story doesn't look like him, but it seems not to be a recent photo. This tweet shows the pic used in another story about him (when he invited a hotel worker to take part in a porn movie), and puts it side by side with the Decapitate Terfs guy:

But... this never happens! The violent men who turn up at protests and women's events to threaten women aren't dangerous in real life, that's just paranoia!

I remember a discussion about it on Mumsnet at the time - can't find it now. (Might have been deleted.) After Cameron's initial court appearance in 2022 on the murder charge, it was very hard to find any references to him - it's taken a very long time to come to trial.

I'm not an expert in criminal law but it seems strange to have let someone on a murder charge out on bail.

Also strange that the police weren't able to track down the "Decapitate Terfs" person, or even to confirm or deny that the person holding the placard was the same as the person on a murder charge. What's going on?

Yes, it's him. Various people did a fair bit of digging at the time, info was passed to police, who did nothing.

I suppose having a mother who was police before her tragic death may possibly have contributed to that - I remember thinking the total non action of Police Scotland at the time was odd.

There's someone on one of the Facebook reports who commented that her deceased partner used to live next door to him when he was on bail, and the police came round to check on him every evening apparently. She wasn't impressed.
