Btw, Jane, if I am ever lucky enough to meet you in person I will gladly buy you not just a drink but the entire bloody bar.

CocoapuffPuff · 02/07/2024 19:26

I'm so goddammit depressed. Screwed each and every way, every direction I look. It must be so nice to have a cock and be allowed to batter everyone you want to with it.

Sunshineandchill · 02/07/2024 19:36

I understand that it’s not safe. I apologise if anyone thought I would not understand that. I just think it’s a shame for genuine people, men and women who genuinely want to be another sex. It’s more about that than weirdos who ruin it for others.

Chersfrozenface · 02/07/2024 19:43

..genuine people, men and women who genuinely want to be another sex.

The fact is, they can't. Humans can't change sex.

All they can do is try to imitate the other sex. But that"s all it is, an imitation, a counterfeit, it's not real.

Chersfrozenface · 02/07/2024 19:13

Well a minotaur is half bull and smut originally meant dirt or filth, cf. German Schmutz.

So I'm guessing 'bullshit'.

Oh. I thought you meant the other kind.

Is this a man you want on the world stage having to have serious conversations with world leaders with red buttons at their fingertips??

That.

The manifesto is deeply misogynistic, dismisses women's rights and equalities as a 'toxic culture war', and actively promises to destroy them in law. It is in hock to alternative realities which it wants to enforce by 'hate crime' punishments to stop people mentioning unwanted facts, which would protect men from women resisting being mugged for their rights. He has no care for women's dignity, and every damned time anyone has said 'women' he's immediately reminded us all about how sad and vulnerable and much more important men are, making it clear that the main issue for him about women's rights is ensuring that they make men happy.

That he's now making a few vague noises means absolutely sod all. The man does not have integrity, he says whatever works in the moment without conscience and changes it on a dime. It's too bloody late, and words mean nothing.

And while Willoughby's had a helpful little kick off, there's still absolute silence from the big orgs who have had all those cosy cups of tea and ministers' ears and been to all the meetings and planning that women's groups were excluded from.

Here's a few panicky last minute crumbs that from Friday morning will mean fuck all. Now vote for Kier like a good girl.

Yep. Stonewall today tweeted some anodyne whiffle. Clearly untroubled by Starmer's blip.

Women's rights are not a blip. We deserve more.

FFS we deserve an apology! Women have been sacked, punched, expelled from political patries, and arrested for saying roughly what Starmer's said!

ArabellaScott · 02/07/2024 20:04

We should have a political party that is robust and clear on defending our rights.

All women are asking is for single sex spaces, Jesus wept. It's not a big ask! We're not seeking gold plated toilets or equitable provision - we're just asking for the things we have had for the past 100 years, the things we already had to fight for! God damn it, I can't believe the effort it's taken to get this far, and it's still not fucking enough.

CocoapuffPuff · 02/07/2024 20:11

I wonder if I will ever matter?

Changing the EqA got lobbyists going

We won’t get it now though

UpThePankhurst · 02/07/2024 20:20

You have a basic choice. You can avoid making men sad by pretending they have become women and letting them have all women's spaces and resources because awww bless, it's nice to kind and nice and sad men. (And you're not bothered by aww bless for women because being kind and nice to them gets you no cookies, and it's not like they're human or anything, and oh well if disabled/minority/homosexual/traumatised women lose all access to society, we have SAD MEN....)

Or you can have equality as a woman.

It is horrifying the number of people who think awww bless for a man is really more important.

So "Aqua" is a male person with blue hair.

No point in psychiatrists opinions then

None. Mental health professionals aren't the arbiters of women's rights!

UpThePankhurst · 02/07/2024 20:48

Should the rights of female humans be predicated on the assessed emotions of male humans?

Or is that insane male supremacism?

I understand where you are coming from. I don’t confess to know what goes on in anyone’s head, so I agree wholeheartedly with separate toilets.

UpThePankhurst · 02/07/2024 21:45

The problem is though that a woman's needs and experiences do not change based on what happens to be happening between a man's ears at the time.

And since no one is even pausing to consider that she has a head, never mind what's happening in it, it's just mad extreme sexism.

It's not supposed to cause an argument. It's a genuine question.

Do you think they are ruining the reputation of genuine trans people? What impact does that have? Or it is something more concrete, like you think that genuine trans people should be allowed in opposite sex spaces but because of the non genuine ones it should stop?

Personally, if someone had been through all the hormonal changes and Physical changes and had the psychiatric test, then I would be ok sharing a loo with that person. (Not literally of course) 😂If that person is happy being a different sex then really that is far safer than being with an unhappy person! But….as we all know there are strange people in the world and it’s not practical. I just think as people have rightly said, men are usually governed by their bits, so why would they have them cut off if they were not serious! I really do not want to sound like I am not on women’s side here, but it’s just being practical.

Thelnebriati · 02/07/2024 22:12

Three are no surgeries or hormones needed to change your legal gender. You just declare your intention to live as the opposite gender.

OK.

So being practical about this.

If you're in a ladies' loo and you see a 6ft male, how do you know whether they've taken hormone treatment and had a psychiatric test and had their cock and balls chopped off?

AlisonDonut · 02/07/2024 22:12

Your choice entirely as to your boundaries, and you're lucky enough and privileged enough to have no reason to be excluded by men in a women's space. <shrug>

What do you plan to do with the women who aren't ok, don't consent and can't use those spaces?

Ok to exclude them from everything so men can have all the choices because it's not bothering you?

And why should women's rights and equalities and wishes be subordinated to men IF the men have worked hard enough and been sad enough? Are they some kind of justified sacrifice to reward the brave warrior?

Gift wrap a woman for a sad bloke today, who cares what she thinks about it. He deserves her.

Ffs listen to yourself!

You don’t that is the problem. And maybe psychiatric test sounded judgemental, I did not mean it too, I was just under the impression that councilling was given to make sure that the person was really sure before going through the whole process.
