Makes a mockery of all the politicians who insist women have protections from the Equality Act so there are no problems.

What are Labour going to do about this problem that keeps happening?

Hoosemover · 01/07/2024 08:50

Another attention-seeking male harassing one of much needed nurses. Sometimes you wonder if we all entered the another dimension. Given it 20 more years of the shit and it will be like living in the handmaiden tale.

ArabellaScott · 01/07/2024 09:22

What is there even to say anymore?

Exactly!

Labour says that biological women are afforded protection under the 'single-sex' clause of the Equality Act.... (And that it doesn't need clarifying!)

But.... Surely if that was the case, the NHS guidance stating that trans people can use toilets and changing rooms of their 'identified gender' is breaching the Equality Act?? Surely NHS guidance needs changing?

gentlemum · 01/07/2024 09:31

Absolutely disgusting treatment. It is quite unbelievable that this sort of thing occurs and everyone has to suffer for the very tiny minority to be prioritised. What kind of world are we living in?!

A clamp down on reporting of such issues, maybe?

GailBlancheViola · 01/07/2024 09:39

Gender Identity is not a protected characteristic it is not anything in law or otherwise.

This appalling treatment of women is never bloody ending and all you hear from KS is waffle, waffle, waffle, dignity for trans.

What kind of world are we living in?! A Brave New World of misogyny on steroids where woman don't even qualify as second class citizens we are lower than that.

littlbrowndog · 01/07/2024 09:43

Seems we have no protection anymore. Men can go where they want

why would any man go into womens changing room. 🤦‍♀️

gardenmusic · 01/07/2024 09:52

'why would any man go into womens changing room'

For the same reasons a non trans guy followed my ( young adult) niece around M and S underwear dept on Saturday. Perv.
I had to stop looking at the harvest festival type knickers, and stand with her. I might have accidentally trod on him.

Literal violence!!! 😂😂😂

Good on you for protecting your niece. I hope she didn't notice

Decent men who respect and value women and who are not misogynists wouldn't.

myotherdogisadonkey · 01/07/2024 10:00

@ArabellaScott exactly,it's like a nightmare. She got suspended. It's a bloody joke isn't it? And I know I keep saying it but where are the bloody trade unions? What have we all been paying into for years? For Len's retirement fund? We need our own trade union. I am so sick of this shite. These poor nurses. It's a hard enough job. Not to mention the suitability of these selfish people having access to patients. (Yes I fully expect this comment to be removed but in what way in these men putting patients' first?)

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/07/2024 10:02

Intrigued by the harvest festival knickers @gardenmusic misses point of thread

gardenmusic · 01/07/2024 10:02

hesaman, She is 19, and I could see that she was uncomfortable by his nonchalant proximity.

Floisme · 01/07/2024 10:04

Those poor women. And how many more are there?

I don't understand how Labour can continue to insist with a straight face that the Equality Act doesn't need clarification.

Even at this late stage all they'd have to say for me to reconsider my voting plan (independent) would be, 'Yeah, the Equality Act clearly isn't working as we intended, and we will take a look at it before changing the Gender Recogntion Act.'

NewGreenDuck · 01/07/2024 10:04

All is safely gathered in. Harvest festival.

gardenmusic · 01/07/2024 10:05

Harvest festival knickers = all is safely gathered in. And needs to be...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/07/2024 10:06

Thank you! Never heard that expression!

This would work for me too.

To answer your question: nothing

viques · 01/07/2024 10:14

And according to that article, it wasn’t the woman who initially complained, but the transwoman who complained about her “attitude” and her “alleged unwanted behaviours”.

What next, a rapist complaining he didn’t orgasm?
A car thief complaining there wasn’t a full tank of petrol?
A burglar complaining your jewellery box was full of fake Rolexes?

Oh no, not everyone has to suffer. Only women. Men are under minimal threat from this group of men. Women suffer, and that's a feature, not a bug.

The trade unions are busy protesting women's rights events, as far as I can see.
