Right now on LBC calling out KS on his ‘toxicity’ misnomer. Worth tuning in on catch up

And really underlining the labour party’s failure, whether wilful or incompetent, to set out a clear statement of their policy in this area. Her opening monologue was pretty good!

Operation Let Them Speak going well as Freda Wallace rings up.

WilmaFlintstone1 · 24/06/2024 14:29

Labour have lost my vote and I say that as a lifelong Labour voter.

Mollyollydolly · 24/06/2024 14:42

There has just been an excellent segment on Times Radio too with Andrew Neil. Featured Helen Joyce and then Gove and Harman. Incredibly depressing. Ignoring all the concerns of women. Worth listening to on the Times app if you didn't hear it. Anyway, I'm out as far as Labour are concerned.

Did Gove and Harman ignore women or just Harman? I'll try and have a listen.

They lost me thanks to Corbyn and Momentum. I hoped so badly that KS would bring me back.

Nope.

Mollyollydolly · 24/06/2024 15:04

Sorry should have been clearer. Harman dismissed women's concerns. Said it was all because of a few silly errors (Isla Bryson) and that women who worked in Rape Crisis didn't see a problem. She belittled the concerns of women. I've struggled about voting for them, my postal ballot is still here, but it's made my mind up. I wont vote for people who hold me in contempt.

Mollyollydolly · 24/06/2024 15:04

And I'm more riled up than ever to fight on. Anger is a great motivator.

PronounssheRa · 24/06/2024 15:06

Ah, just one rapists placed in a women's prison so thats OK then. And did she fucking miss the Edinburgh Rape Crisis court case?

Mollyollydolly · 24/06/2024 15:13

She's either incredibly ill-informed or she doesn't care. I'm going with the latter.

To be honest, it looks like Labour’s big wigs are all incredibly ill-informed on purpose AND they don’t care 🤬

To the Welsh woman who was the 3rd caller, you were so calm, measured and un-wavering in your message, thank you.
Using correct sex pronouns for Freda Wallace and not apologising for it, brilliant.

She was brilliant I said this too

Catherine, so well said

lcakethereforeIam · 24/06/2024 17:03

Joan Smith has quit Labour. This is so sad, I'm surprised she stuck it out as long as she did.

Here4thechocs · 24/06/2024 17:08

The LP would never lose my vote, personally as long as the alternative (s) remain what we currently have as I’m acutely aware doing this would put the folks that have messed up this country so badly back into govt, or worse still , the Reform Ltd company. ( yes, it’s a company). So as much as error and mistakes ladened the LP party is, I’d rather them than a chance at a repeat of the last 14 years or a Putin apologist.

AmelieTaylor · 24/06/2024 17:15

@Helpuschoose

thank you for starting the thread. I'm currently not commuting as I was, so miss SF now. I'll listen to this later though.

Finally some people's eyes are being opened to Labour.

sadly, there doesn't feel like there is ANY party I want to vote for.

Well doesn't that sum it up. Young middle class graduates identifying as extremely good people because they work in a charity are cool with men in women's refuges, examination rooms and therapy sessions. And cool with speaking on behalf of the women they are supposed to help.

Women who've been raped though? Anyone asked them?

Helpuschoose · 24/06/2024 17:32

I totally understand women’s pessimism and disillusionment with the labour party. It seems to be such a tortuous process to even get them to understand the very simple concerns so many women have. But I do think the noise around this issue is getting louder, and I do think the multiplicity of voices across various media does help. I would still (just about) rather be inside the tent. Meanwhile from today’s Times…

Never? To be so tribal that nothing your party does or proposes could disuade you from voting for them is how we end up with authoritarian dictatorships.

That quote from Reeves, ffs. I didn't realise Labour had the power to change biological sex. In fact, I thought that was the problem, nothing can change biological sex. Not laws, not hormones, not surgery, not blue fairies, not head tilts. But, if I'm mistaken and Labour have garnered this power from somewhere, perhaps they could use it first on congenital diseases?

Reeves and Labour have no power to stop men with GRCs entering changing rooms

How will they do this

Their complete lack of understanding is unfathomable at this stage

They don’t understand because they don’t want to understand. For them this is all about being nice so details and specifics don’t matter because how could something bad possibly come from them just being nice 😏🙄🤦‍♀️
