There's a joke going round on twitter that he has been stood down so that Eddie Izzard can stand!

You are strangely obsessed with picking holes in my opinions.
Changing rooms are easier to police than public toilets. There is usually a receptionist and often CCTV (like at my 24 hr access gym).

Anyway, noone wants the thread derailed. I'm at a loss as to why my personal opinion is relevant.

Not picking holes. Pointing them out. Many public owned swimming pools have the changing rooms and toilets within the same space. The toilets public for all, whether swimming or not.

Well done Labour!

We are in agreement there! Better late than never! But why oh why couldn't it have been months ago!!

Presumably because there hadn’t been a serious enough complaint. Maybe they’ll pick a more conciliatory candidate. Not sure where that leaves KJK if this constituency was chosen specifically to go up against Moyle.

That moment he lost the plot in Parliament shouting, going red in the face, crossing the floor to intimidate a woman in the opposite party. There was so many complaints about that. Then would have been the right time to suspend the horrible cretinous toad.

Because it's got nothing to do with his behaviour and everything to do with his politics.

Starmer is conducting a purge of those with actual left wing, traditional labour principles before the election.

The timing is deliberate. It's last minute so they don't have time to appeal and not much time to stand as an independent.

The complaint they dug up on him (no idea of the content) is 8 years old.

While I can't stand LRM given his stance on women's rights, this is fuckery, and it's not OK to run a party like this. It's not democracy.

I must admit I did laugh a little, given KJK's intentions. What will she do now, I wonder?

But, anyway, what a disappointment Starmer is.

Still a zillion times better than the Tories though (who, may I remind you, started the whole GRA reform nonsense in the first place).

You do know who introduced the GRA?

anyolddinosaur · 29/05/2024 19:32

Whatever the complaint was about maybe they thought KJK knew about it and therefore it would come up in the campaign? Maybe KJK should move to stand against Ben Bradshaw, another MP who was rude to Rosie https://unherd.com/2023/01/the-labour-party-has-a-woman-problem/

Madcats · 29/05/2024 19:37

On the day on which the Evening Standard announced that it was going to publish once a week (my local paper just publishes restaurant reviews and puff pieces on it's un-navigable site) I do worry how detached people are becoming from any current affairs.

Nevertheless, keeping receipts is a helpful hobby

Needmoresleep · 29/05/2024 19:48

Diane Abbott, then our Lloyd.

It smells strongly of using procedure as the punishment, which has happened to too many women and which I disagree with.

Keir will have known for a long time there were possible issues with both of them, for different reasons. I don't think this is the right way to deal with them.

BezMills · 29/05/2024 19:53

Agreed. But the thing is, I'm on holibobs and forgot my nano-violin. Best I can do is lead a rousing chorus of "oh dear what a pity nevermind" to the tune of Fuckety Bye

Nope. KJK has the political credibility of a gnat.

This is a purge of the left wing of the labour party. It's been going on for ages, plenty has been written about it.

Yes, I totally agree. I would have liked to see LRM pulled up for his behaviour towards women, not chucked out of the party because he actually has some principles.

I want to live in a fairer, more just world for women and men too. I don't think this is the way to go about it.

Party machinations are no skin off my nose either way. If he has a calling to represent kemptown, he can pony up a deposit and stand as an independent. I would love to see that.

She won’t get many votes anyway, especially as such a narrow minded single issue personality. We’ve already got a plan to deal with her campaign and we won’t be engaging with her social media attention seeking

It would be unkind of me to ask how that's going for you now.
