Trans women is not the same as "men". It is a subset.
And I don't know how you police public toilets. So I'm just being pragmatic.

In no way does that equate to "I'm happy with men in women's spaces". That sounds like self ID in all circumstances. I am not fine with that.

At the risk of going round in circles, you've said elsewhere you don't think men should be in women's changing rooms, which would be no easier to police than toilets. I'm not sure it's entirely other posters' fault if they aren't clear about what you are happy with.

One of the interesting things about KJK is her party is entirely funded by small donations, overwhelmingly from women. No other party is like that

Can you point me to the source for this?

I see the latest polling shows Labour's lead is increasing- 47 to 20. I think people are sick of divisive, polarised, nasty debates. Can't see KJK making any impact at all.

So what are Labour going to do to prevent debate? Is it going to be "We're right. No debate."? If they weren't planning to bring in nasty woman-hating laws we wouldn't be having these divisive, polarised debates. Whatever happened to "be kind"? With Labour it seems to only apply to rapists and other vile woman-hating men. Women have to be kind to them, but Labour don't want to be kind to women.

Here is a link to the PoW website, it’s very easy to become a member or donate from the front page

Done.

anyolddinosaur · 29/05/2024 12:09

I was having second thought about donating to Party Of Women - but every time someone likes Adam shows up it makes me want to donate to whoever is being slagged off this time.

BezMills · 29/05/2024 12:14

"Why" is Party Of Women? And what can you do?

"Why" is Party Of Women? And what can you do?

I guess when it comes down to it we either want to make a change or we don't. Plenty don't really, they're okay signing a petition, they can settle their conscience with a donation to a minor grievance, they're satisfied with themselves that someone somewhere is doing something.

That's not for me.

I think we can effect real change.

I think we can take women to a new place where no man has any right to enter our space, where legal fictions are no longer a thing, where kids aren't being groomed at school.

Do you?

We need as many candidates as possible.

We need experts in political campaigning and/or organising and we need enthusiastic newbies.

Why were you having second thoughts?

Electoral commission - all donations/loans over £500 must be reported.

Well that will put a spanner in the works.

I thought it was interesting how KJK spelt out how she sees her standing as an MP as explained in her intro to LWS 26 May - link here. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5083363-lws-26-may-2024-has-an-intro-from-kjk-which-covers-the-concept-of-pow-as-activism-being-a-disrupter-and-that-video-clip First 15 minutes of the video.

I wonder how many other women have put themselves forward to be candidates and whether they will choose to present themselves as KJK intends to do herself, or will adopt a more sobre / conventional approach to electioneering.

It would be great to get updates from those electioneering for PoW to hear how they are received!

WickedSerious · 29/05/2024 18:18

Oh dear.

What a pity.

IwantToRetire · 29/05/2024 18:19

Was so busy slowly typping I didn't see this update.

Does anyone remember 8 years ago.

What happened, and who might have reported him.

Wonder if somehow Labour suddenly discovers it can do an investigation in 48 hours?!!

MrsTomRipley · 29/05/2024 18:21

That's hilarious, though I did want to see her demolish him,

spannasaurus · 29/05/2024 18:22

Would the person making the complaint need to be a Labour party member or could it have been anyone?

For those who cant read the statement because it is a graphic image some nice person on Reddit has type it out!

I've been working day and night since the election was called for success not only in Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven but across Sussex. Yesterday, out of the blue, I received an "administrative suspension letter."

Someone (who remains anonymous to me) has made what I believe to be a vexatious and politically motivated complaint about my behaviour eight years ago. This is a false allegation that I dispute totally and I believe it was designed to disrupt this election.

There isn't enough time to defend myself as these processes within the party take too long, so the party have told me that I will not be eligible to be a candidate at the next election.

I'm gutted. I've spent the last decade of my life building one of the best campaigning CLPs in the country. I've been so inspired by everyone pulling together in the last week and excited for the campaign to come. We have an amazing local party, and I am sorry most of all for you party members do will be let down by this.

I aim to cooperate with the investigations process to clear my name, but will now take this opportunity to contribute to public life in different ways under what I hope is a Labour government.

I wish Keir Starmer, Angela Rayner, and the Labour team the best of luck and hope to be celebrating Labour wins across Sussex and beyond on election night.

She won’t get many votes anyway, especially as such a narrow minded single issue personality. We’ve already got a plan to deal with her campaign and we won’t be engaging with her social media attention seeking

Gonna need a bigger plan

You are strangely obsessed with picking holes in my opinions.
Changing rooms are easier to police than public toilets. There is usually a receptionist and often CCTV (like at my 24 hr access gym).

Anyway, noone wants the thread derailed. I'm at a loss as to why my personal opinion is relevant.

EasternStandard · 29/05/2024 18:31

@Star96 was that your plan?
