Another one here who would not know what KJK was up to if it wasnt broadcast on these boards. I've listened to the video - she doesnt want fetishists publicly displaying their genitals and I think many women will agree with that. We used to call that flashing and it used to be illegal, I thought it still was. Is someone going to support breaking the law to avoid being accused of discrimination?

Talking about not renting to someone with an elective double mastectomy is different. That is potentially illegal discrimination and the only people I see supporting illegal activities - like violence and threats of violence - are trans activists.

Sloejelly · 28/05/2024 09:40

KJK has put up with death threats, threats of violence, actual violence, her family threatened, she has been discriminated against by service providers, by the police, has been banned from many social media platforms. Why wouldn’t she discriminate against those seeking to harm her?

anyolddinosaur · 28/05/2024 10:49

@Sloejelly Interesting point. If KJK had a property to rent (she doesnt) she wouldnt actually know someone had had a double mastectomy unless they told her that or possibly were actively proclaiming it somewhere she would see it. If they did that then since activists have threatened her repeatedly they would be actively seeking to cause her distress. So questionable if it would be illegal.

'...from a purely personal perspective I don't care if I use a public toilet and a TW is in there.'

"Personal perspective" means regarding me, not all women.

"Don't care" is a neutral term, "happy" is a positive term.

"Public toilet" is one example of a "woman's space" not all womens spaces. I don't think its practical or possible to police them.

"TW" is a subset of men, not all men.

Saying "I'm happy to have men in womens spaces" is a gross distortion of my position. I think you are doing this to stop other posters considering what I say and its entirely inappropriate to pull posts across threads like that.

I'm not discussing toilets with you, other people can go and read the thread and decide for themselves what they think of my position

I was on the thread I think (if I wasn't I read it at the time) how else are people supposed to interpret you saying you don't care if a transwoman is in the women's toilets? People aren't going to remember your exact wording. People are going to remember that Adam is happy with men in the women's toilets. I know that as that's how I remembered it.

So you didn't say those exact words. Most people don't have an eidetic memory and what sticks for most will be Adam is happy to have men in womens spaces. If you're lucky some will remember you specified toilets, but still you were just fine with the men being in them

Yes it seems AR is being needlessly pedantic.

BlackForestCake · 28/05/2024 13:08

According to Wikipedia the Workers Party and SDP are also putting up candidates in this seat, so KJK won't be the only one talking about Russel-Moyles' misogyny.

BezMills · 28/05/2024 13:16

Good!

Reform U.K. are also intending to stand if they get a candidate

BezMills · 28/05/2024 13:36

I'm quite sure Lloyd Rees-Mogg and his team have a plan for that

No. I never said that. I'm not "happy with men in womens spaces". To say otherwise is a misrepresentation of what I said

I can't help if people have misremembered what I said, I don't mind clarifying (again) but what I don't like is people repeatedly putting words in my mouth.

AdamRyan · 28/05/2024 15:21

Boiled can you confidently say your impression that "Adam is happy with men in womens spaces" comes from your reading of what I said rather than from repeatedly reading other posters saying that line about me?
I'd say the latter has at least a little to do with it as certain posters say stuff like that about me all the time.

Hopefully now you and others will remember what my position actually is and stop misrepresenting me.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2024 15:24

NefertitiV · 28/05/2024 02:58

@NoWordForFluffy

Weird how I took your statement that you didn't report at face value, but you're doing everything you can to question what I'm saying about reporting on this board.

No, you really didn't.

Yes. I really did. Do not call me a liar.

I didn't say anything about you having reported. And I didn't comment again after you said it wasn't you.

You owe me an apology too. But no doubt I'll die waiting.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2024 15:30

Toilets are spaces plural. There is more than one public toilet therefore they are spaces plural.

And you're happy with them in toilets. Which are spaces.

And that's my final engagement on that subject as I'm about to fly off to the sunshine. ☀️☀️☀️☀️

EasternStandard · 28/05/2024 15:35

I think any dismissal of attempts to get single sex spaces is along the same lines as happy with men in them

Otherwise why not argue for changing it?

There have been posts working against those changes

Yes I can confidently say It comes from my reading of it when you wrote it, because I found it weird that that was something you are OK with. It seemed such an strange line in the sand. As far as I can remember you don't agree with men in other women only situations but toilets... Fine you men come in the womens, the more the merrier.

So do I go with my assumption at the time based on what you actually wrote at the time or your current rewriting and reworking of what you said now you don't like the way people read it?

Trans women is not the same as "men". It is a subset.
And I don't know how you police public toilets. So I'm just being pragmatic.

In no way does that equate to "I'm happy with men in women's spaces". That sounds like self ID in all circumstances. I am not fine with that.

Of course it sodding equates to being happy to let some men use the women's.

Transwomen yes are a subset of men! Still bloody men though. And you are still happy to let that particular subset of MEN use the women's toilets.

And you police public toilets by giving women back the power to say " Oi! What the Fucking hell do you think you are doing in the woman's toilets you are a sodding man now fuck off and go use the gents". Instead we are currently in a position where there are posters up in women's toilets telling women if they are uncomfortable to basically suck it up.

I don't care how you try to re word what you said, if you are finding you have to break down what you said word by bloody word to try to explain to people that you didn't mean what you actually said you did but in fact mean something different than maybe you should look at your posting style.

Your stance is that it is OK for one particular group of men to use the public toilets. That is your stance at least bloody own it.

Funnily enough i very rarely have to explain to others posters the meaning of my sentence structures.

I’d be happy with a law change. I think we’d get a lot back if we were underpinned by legislation

DrSpartacularsUltraFeminism · 28/05/2024 20:55

Trans women is not the same as "men". It is a subset.

To be in a subset of men, you must be a man, surely?

ETA: royal 'you' not literal 'you'.

JanesLittleGirl · 28/05/2024 21:02

There may be many types of transwoman. The one thing that they all share is that they are not women. Any woman who doesn't care if these men use toilets designated for women is a woman who doesn't care about the safety, dignity and privacy of women.

OK.
I wouldn't have to break it down word by word if people took what I said on face value rather than distorting it. I'm not happy with men in womens spaces.
