Batten down the hatches. It's going to be 5 years of gender woo and insanity when Labour get in.

Bumblebee907 · 22/05/2024 17:32

Amazing news, bring on anyone but the tories.

IwantToRetire · 22/05/2024 17:33

I realised I was totally uninterested.

Partly because I was stupid enough to tune in to Radio 4 news, and all the "reporters" were talking about was each other, and who knew, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Seriously is there any news outlet where we get the news and not the self indulgent ramblings of reporters who think they are more important than the politicians.

I might just stop watching the news.

Dont believe any of them.

They will all say what they think voters want to hear, and not one of them will talk about the reality of the situation this country is in.

Let alone women's sex based rights.

Angry

Dreading it. Thankfully my kids are just about out of school. Will need to protect autistic DD though.

BlackeyedSusan · 22/05/2024 17:37

It's a shame we are dreading Labour. They should be protecting women. They aren't. And they are keeping the same spending as the conservatives. They haven't got a plan yet...at least published. It's all we'll look at the figures when we are in power.... doesn't sound hopeful for much change.

NamechangeMay24 · 22/05/2024 17:38

What will happen to everything currently conder consultation? Relationships and Sex education, School guidance on gender questioning children, nhs guidance on single sex services etc etc?

It'll all be shelved during the campaign i.e. as of now.

Then when Labour win it'll all be torn up and they'll bash on with the gender ideology.

Edit to add my advice: buckle up.

As they will with progressing changes to the EA.

I suspect for many of us it will be like when we first heard that there were proposals to change the GRA to make getting a GRC easier.

I wonder if the "What Is A Woman Campaign" will reactivate?

I think this country is going to be fucked by 2030.

Women are already seen as the lesser in society, footballers can already get away with raping a sleeping woman and boasting about it to his mates, it's going to get a LOT worse.

No different to now, then?

maltravers · 22/05/2024 17:47

I was hoping that it would be a bit longer. I don’t like this government but the wheels seem to be falling off the trans bus and I was hoping that would be a bit further along before the GE. Labour would then be forced properly to face up to the reality of this ideology in time so as not to implement harmful changes. I guess we have to buckle up and keep fighting the nonsense.

IwantToRetire · 22/05/2024 17:47

Have just remembered we know have the Party of Women.

I could write that in on my ballot.

Even given KJK energy and organisational skills, I doubt she can get candidates into every constituency.

Phew - something to look forward to. Grin

Who the fuck should I vote for?? Doesn't feel right to not vote. Absolutely could not bring myself to vote for Tories after the last 14 years of shite. Everyone else is going to chuck women under a bus 🤷‍♀️

Yep. Hoping for a bit longer. Just so scared about Mr 99% of women don't have a penis..Starmer

IwantToRetire · 22/05/2024 17:50

I thought they would wait to the autumn, but in fact I think they have given in to the media, who just derail any issue into making it about when will they call an election.

And most people (though heavens know why) seem to think "we need a change".

Lordy, I'm finding it very weird how MN reads like a single issue site over anything political. I'm fiercely gender critical but I cannot understand for the life of me why any informed woman thinks that is more important that the absolute state of our country in terms of leadership around the economy, the environment, and the lack of social contract that we are seeing all around us.

I cannot wait for a new government and hopefully the UK looking less like absolute imbeciles on the world stage.

Dreading all that

I’m inclined to let the people who vote for it deal with the gender rot

Nobody is saying it is the only issue, and cant believe you think there is any one on other issues who is more competent.

We look like imbeciles because our political system caters for or pushes people to act in imbecilic ways.

OP posts:
BlackeyedSusan · 22/05/2024 17:55

I spend quite a lot of time listening to politics...

That's why I am worried that Labour isn't going to change much economically.

Women make up 51% of the population.

And, lest we forget, 100% of the population was carried and born by a woman.

Issues affecting women should be the concern of every single person who has a Mum, sister, daughter, aunt, grandma, niece or a female friend...

IwantToRetire · 22/05/2024 17:57

Oh no, not only have news reporters already made it ridiculous, but now MNHQ is getting in on it!!

Good luck with that.

Realistically, what are Labour going to change?

Education? Free breakfast clubs, mental health support, more teachers - if they can find the money and attract the teachers.

The NHS? Their big idea is to ask NHS to work weekends.

Trade? Ask the EU to make things easier for the UK, despite not being willing to join the Single Market or a customs union.

raspberryjamjar · 22/05/2024 17:59

Am looking forward to them door knocking me so I can ask them what a woman is.

The last one was where it would actually change things. The rest they can’t afford

So not much there bar gender and trafficking on top

Oh well, people are excited about it, looks like it needs to be gone through to see how they pan out
