OK! I thought it was developed from mangels.

I’m not saying it’s bad but, of all the delicious things cheese can taste like, goat is just…meh.

There was a bowl of pear and beetroot salad at my aunt's wake,it was putrid.

I imagine freshly made it would be quite nice. I don't imagine if it was prepared the night before or the morning of the funeral that it would look or taste that great by the time of the wake 😶

It didn't look like that,it was all mushed up with something that looked like mayonnaise.

I was under the impression mangel(wurzel) was an old word for swede (the vegetable). If off to google now.

Ah. Could the beetroot actually be raspberries and the mayo really be double cream? That would work for me.

That's a combination I could cope with.
