Shocking interview on BBC Radio Scotland this morning. . Interviewee passionate about stopping his 10-year-old daughter’s puberty after deciding she was a boy before she could talk.

It's shocking, it's gaslighting. Bbc should be safeguarding children. WTF?

I'm not sure why anyone is bothering to argue with someone who a) evidently has no experience of being around small children and b) thinks that People do change sex.

Oh my god Bitchard is the mother!! Thank you for joining the dots. The poor child. Grim.

A tweet about a 10-year old, planning top surgery a double mastectomy when the child reaches 18? Shock The whole thing is beyond outrageous.

The mother believes in reincarnation and thinks the child was a boy in a previous life…

Fucking hell.

She says her child was 'born sexist'?

Where does one even start.

what would be the point? They would only rush round with some dodgy "medicine" in a rainbow box and a pamphlet on "My first surgery".

Sad but true.

BloodyHellKenAgain · 21/04/2024 23:30

Sadly there have always been people who wanted to cause children harm. In the past these people were derided. For reasons I don't fully understand now they are being publicly cheered on by certain sections of the media/politicians.

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 21/04/2024 23:46

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows this is child abuse.

I can understand why society is happy to marginalise women with this stuff because that's the way it always was, but why are they throwing children to the wolves too?

HoneyButterPopcorn · 22/04/2024 07:59

it’s just mind blowing that these people have become so emboldened and feted for their beliefs that they believe they can go on national tv with this. Is no one in this persons life/community not willing/able to call a spade a spade?

How did we get here?

Look, monsters aren’t real but trans kids are real. Imagine nobody listening to you when you feel something so so much. Conversations and a lot of understanding from parents is what’s needed.
do you not think that kids can be trans?

there's so such thing as a "trans kid"

Copying out that tweet thread:

'I am an educated atheist and scientist. I brought my first two up reasonably gender neutral, wearing/playing everyrhing. My third was born and there's no easy way

to say this, he ran by 9 months and spoke fluently from a year, he shouted he was a boy from his first words. He tore his clothes off and put on my husbands clothes and his brothers clothes EVERYDAY. He screamed looking in the mirror. Thats not all. He talked about his other life

a lot. He had been a man, he said, he had sometimes beaten people up. He loved his son and his wife and his dog Roastbeef that had died in hot pipes. I really did not believe in reincarnation and this scared the crap out of me. I didnt know how to deal with it. When i said it was

dream he got upset and angry. I just said well everythings okay now and hugged him and that worked. He could not have come up with this or seen anything weird on tv he was sp young. I started to watch tv progs about kids with past lives and those with near death experiences...

I think now our conciousness is an energy of its own that continues and has had other experiences. I believe ypu dont normally remember so much, if any, of previous existences. Maybe a place, a feeling, maybe your gender. If you remember your previous gender its who you are

So someone telling you, tough youre a girl now is as MAD and crazy as anyone waking up tomorrow in a body of the opposite sex and everyone telling them they've got it wrong. Can you imagine how that feels? You would fight against it and try to look like your had your whole life.

Anyway, thats what I really do think. We dont know everything and ultimately we need to listen to peoples own lived experiences and protect and nurture them. Happiness is the key. Lets make each other happy. #TransRightsAreHumanRights'

When my son was 5ish he had an idea that he was going to own a hotel for animals, he would tell me all about it, in great detail, every night before bed for over a year.
I asked him when he was 11 about the animal hotel - he had absolutely no recollection of it!

Karensalright · 22/04/2024 10:08

Thats a new take on the erm scientific rational for believing in being born in the wrong body. It’s reincarnation syndrome!!!. Why of course never thought about that before.

I once met someone in school who believed he was Winston Churchill in a previous life. Until someone pointed out Winston was still alive when he was born.

Just like GI can be debunked, so can reincarnation, with simple logic. There are not enough souls to fill all the available bodies being born!!! You know that population growth thingy.

Makes me think of Stephen Hawkins on time travel. He said if it were true then we would be bumping in to people from the future and past all the time. Did not need a complex mathematical formula generated in academia to kill that idea.
