Copying out that tweet thread:
'I am an educated atheist and scientist. I brought my first two up reasonably gender neutral, wearing/playing everyrhing. My third was born and there's no easy way
to say this, he ran by 9 months and spoke fluently from a year, he shouted he was a boy from his first words. He tore his clothes off and put on my husbands clothes and his brothers clothes EVERYDAY. He screamed looking in the mirror. Thats not all. He talked about his other life
a lot. He had been a man, he said, he had sometimes beaten people up. He loved his son and his wife and his dog Roastbeef that had died in hot pipes. I really did not believe in reincarnation and this scared the crap out of me. I didnt know how to deal with it. When i said it was
dream he got upset and angry. I just said well everythings okay now and hugged him and that worked. He could not have come up with this or seen anything weird on tv he was sp young. I started to watch tv progs about kids with past lives and those with near death experiences...
I think now our conciousness is an energy of its own that continues and has had other experiences. I believe ypu dont normally remember so much, if any, of previous existences. Maybe a place, a feeling, maybe your gender. If you remember your previous gender its who you are
So someone telling you, tough youre a girl now is as MAD and crazy as anyone waking up tomorrow in a body of the opposite sex and everyone telling them they've got it wrong. Can you imagine how that feels? You would fight against it and try to look like your had your whole life.
Anyway, thats what I really do think. We dont know everything and ultimately we need to listen to peoples own lived experiences and protect and nurture them. Happiness is the key. Lets make each other happy. #TransRightsAreHumanRights'
