It was Ash's no confidence motion in Harvie that looked likely to pass with SNP votes that triggered the break up of the coalition it seems. So she is playing a blinder.

I get the impression turning the other cheek isn't a feature of Scottish politics.

Mind you, historically you do have clans feuding with ferocity, determination and long, long memories.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they tried to distance themselves and blame all the gender stuff on the greens.

Scottish MNers, please help me to understand! Is this likely to lead to SNP losing power? Then what? Has Scottish Labour got itself together enough to win an election? SNP are currently governing with a (small) minority.

Because the motion of no confidence is in Humza, not the govt, it's unlikely to topple the SNP. I think.

Scottish Labour have improved but still are second to SNP in polls. Scottish Labour are a dilute version of UK Labour, eeeeeeeeeeeeever so slightly less batshit than SNP/Greens, but not for the most part robustly on the side of common sense.

So SNP need either to make a coalition, though I don't see how as all other parties are Unionist, or govern with a minority, which could in theory be challenged.

There is the possibility we get a Labour/Green or a Lab/Green/LD coalition.

(All based on my very rough understanding, I should add).

I'm sure Ash Regan will play a good hand with the cards she holds.

My childish side would love her to use Humza's words as she consigns his useless arse to the dustbin of history, though.

I dread another Scottish independence referendum. The last one was so toxic and I can imagine another even more so.

It took the UK government to stop the GRR bill, FWR appeal is based on UK legislation as are all the other Scottish cases for discrimination. Without the UK government the SNP/ Greens would have been forging ahead of Canada in the destruction of Women’s rights and the harm to children. They have been the only checks.

Does this mean that Dr. Hilary Cass might claim Humza's political head?

Imagine spending fours years putting together an incredibly in depth report into care for gender dysphoric youth, and incidentally liberating Scotland from a bunch of moronic tyrants almost by accident.
