Continuation of Thread 7.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions in the supermarket, grr"- that sort of thing).

Bit disappointed to read that link, I thought it would be called the Hilda shape.

I think a Hilda shape would be a way of tying your headscarf that enhances your curlers. It should definitely be a thing.

Hilda Lyon had a cracking career for those times. Her part in submarine design seems to be well buried.

Just a general observation, but there seems to be a massive surge in Righteousness in recent days. Is it related to the general election, or to the onset of school holidays, or just that the bat signal has been triggered by something elsewhere?

Predictable I suppose but the Telegraph ran a poll of readers and 94% agreed with the decision to ban puberty blockers.

I'm finally catching up with this series and have stalled on this episode. It is so preachy, it makes the infodumps on Law and Order SVU look like a model of subtlety. I'm beginning to wish it was on iplayer so at least I could watch it at double speed during the "leap of the week" bits, and then revert to normal for the series arc stuff.

Honestly, it's all so hauntingly familiar. The doctors moving on and setting up for themselves once the Tavistock wall came down. The few brave people speaking up. The tras captured who will not admit that they did anything wrong. The utter gutlessness of the IOC. Sharron Davies must think she can hear an echo.

To the SNP maturity seems to be on as much of a spectrum as gender.

If people under 24 don't have "fully-formed brains" (whatever that means) then why are they allowed to marry or vote, or even cross the road unsupervised, let alone become MPs or equalities officers?
