Continuation of Thread 7.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions in the supermarket, grr"- that sort of thing).

A division that used.women's times as its benchmark. The Boston maratho is (or.was) famously tricky to enter - how many women could qualify for.it a mere 8 months after taking up running?

I had no idea it had been made into a film. In fact, I only learned this had happened at all relatively recently. Of course the FA is still demonstrating its misogynistic credentials as it believes 'woman' can be just a thought in a man's head.

Latecomer here. This may have already been suggested, as I haven't read the full thread yet, but Cathy Devine - who is on Twitter - has done a lot of academic research into women in sports. She has written several papers and is a professional researcher. I'm sure she would be a good person to get into contact with. Best of luck.

This woman is standing as a candidate in my constituency. She appears to be (loosely) a Corbynite. I've just sent her a sprawling email 😃asking her take on various gender-related issues. I'm not holding my breath, but just hoping for someone I can vote for. There are three independent candidates, and she looks the most hopeful of the lot, but that's not saying much.

Yes, that would be a deal-breaker for me. I never understood JC's adoption of that particular lie, and would like to have quizzed him about it in private. Whatever happened to the fabulous Lily Wossname, by the way? Them seem to have rather fallen off the radar. JC was a bloody good constituency MP, though, back in the 90s. Not PM material, perhaps ... but then, Keir Starmer? Really? (His dad was a toolmaker, you know!)

His dad was a toolmaker. He's managed to keep that secret. Along with being a former DPP, his mum being a nurse and his missus working for the NHS. It's amazing how little we know about him.

Although, now you mention it, looking at Starmer and hearing what he says, yeah, I do think 'tool!'.

I think, maybe, @Gonners , you feel much like me about JC; a fundamentally decent guy, but never cut out for high office (and let's not forget, and I think this bears re-emphasising, the only reason he got elected Leader was because the other candidates looked so dismal). Mule-headed about a fair few things, and taken in by genderwoo like so much of the Left, but a more honest man than most in the HoC, and cynically thrown under the bus by Starmer. I know who I'd rather have a pint with.

I'd rather drink alone than with either of those two! Ken Clarke, he'd be a laugh. Bet he gets his round in.

Two interesting results - one that the 64 skeletons (mostly children) where they could recover DNA were all male (no mention of their having been assigned sex at birth) and in many case related to each other. The other that the myth of young females beings sacrificed was invented in the first place.

Oh dear, what a pity - 90 actresses have turned down roles in this incredible play, and not 1 of the female roles is cast (although they've found a couple of men who are either misogynist or dim enough to sign up for the male leads).
