A good time for a thread to note all the companies, charities and celebrities that jumped onto the Trans bandwagon without any care for the children being harmed [title edited]

So we (and they) don't forget and to assist any journalists who are working on stories. I'll get the ball rolling:

Now the CASS report is out it may be time to revisit the part the Dentons' advice played in all of this - does anyone have a copy? | Mumsnet

Sorry, what are we actually pinpointing here? Were all these people listed publically encouraging children to transition?

Or trying to shut down, silence or shame those who raised doubts/concerns.

Laura Snapes at The Guardian described Roisin Murphy’s album as having an “ugly stain” on it because she had criticised puberty blockers (in a private Facebook post that was exposed by a so-called friend). That was only a few months ago.

Róisín Murphy: Hit Parade review – a masterful album with an ugly stain

To DJ Koze’s warped soul and dub techno, Murphy examines unrequited love and the ecstasy of being seen for who you are – a theme that jars with her recent comments about trans kids

That didn't age well did it?

Jameela Jamil- I was wondering what she had made of the Cass review.

I doubt she read it somehow.

Kirsty Allsopp who is currently furiously reverse ferreting and claiming that 'those saying there was no debate are wrong'

Waitwhat23 · 13/04/2024 18:54

Near enough every Scottish politician, across all parties, with a few very honourable and brave exceptions.

HowdidImanagetohavetwoaccountaandthenloseboth · 13/04/2024 19:07

I realise this is going to be unpopular . The term reverse ferreting and this thread . Given there are so many people firms and organisations listed as other have said it would probably be easier to list those that didn’t …We won a great battle this week or rather common sense did , however i fear it was only a battle and it the war - we have a long way to go . What we don’t want to happen is make it easier for people to double down and being defensive and pushing them into a corner . They need an escape route which allows them to about face with some dignity intact . And whilst some of these really sting remembering them and some new ones ( Samaritan training particularly appalling for me ) also off course sting , we need to find a way for it to happen . It’s almost a numbers game, the numbers caught seem to far outweigh those who didn’t, and we will never win the war if we don’t reverse those numbers .

please don’t round on me on for this point of view . I too have been affected personally ( once tg autistic daughter , lost employment due to being gc yada yada , ) so don’t say this lightly .

Waitwhat23 · 13/04/2024 19:14

The ones who acknowledge they were wrong, or apologise, or the ones who didn't speak up but didn't actually go on the attack - fair enough. A 'golden bridge' seems fair enough.

The ones who actively pushed it? The ones who have spitefully and vindictively gone for women - the Scottish Greens for example? No, sorry. Others can but I won't.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 13/04/2024 20:15

I do understand @HowdidImanagetohavetwoaccountaandthenloseboth I think there’s a difference between those who aggressively pushed it and those who were mindlessly beeee kiiind

Theeyeballsinthesky · 13/04/2024 20:16

In fact what @Waitwhat23 said!

CorruptedCauldron · 13/04/2024 20:40

What gets me is that Billy Bragg is doubling down, digging his heels in and trying to discredit the Cass report, even amid reverse ferrets from some of the biggest movers and shakers in the gender movement. Come on, read the room Billy!

Yes indeed.

I find it hard to forgive those who smeared those of us trying to raise legitimate concerns as TERFs.

For example, Stewart Lee's latest show was awful, snide remarks about JKR being morally wrong and misogynistic ranting about how awful mumsnet is. I know he's edgy and some people hate him, but this time he waded into politics that he clearly has no understanding of and maligned the women who do. It wasn't just mindless be kind crap, it was an attack on GC women, and that showed his support for the trans ideology. He could have just kept quiet on the subject.

Will he apologise? Not holding my breath, but like fuck will I ever hand over my hard earned cash for one of his shows again.

Kimchie · 13/04/2024 22:20

Wagamama raised money for Mermaids.
So I would say that was actively pushing it.
The company is captured, if that’s the right word.
They had done loads of good work for charities before including lgbt orgs and young peoples mental health charities.
DEI groups were created after the George Floyd protests in 2021.
A diversity lead was employed to work at hq in the wake of this, but rather than it being an ethnic minority person it was a “non binary” man.
Pronoun badges were ordered for staff just before the mermaids campaign.
Still no equity or inclusion for people with caring responsibilities in management teams.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 13/04/2024 22:39

They changed their loos to unisex too.

Arts Coucil England
All of the organisations peddling GI in schools mentioned in Miriam Cates RSE report (though I can't find it on the ncsu website anymore).

HoneyButterPopcorn · 13/04/2024 22:39

They changed their loos to unisex too.

I have noticed in the Waga branches I've visited lately that staff are wearing plain black lanyards not the rainbow ones they used to.

Also, the loos were individual but labelled either female or male. I'm pretty sure they used to be unisex.

I always made a point of saying in the customer survey you get after you've paid online that I didn't feel welcome and how the trans stuff was alienating. So now I've been saying it's good to see the changes.

At the end of the day businesses jumped on the bandwagon because they thought it made them look good and would make them more money, not because they gave a about the TQ+

oh the shame.

Pullman has tweeted about a meme regarding the Cass report being photoshopped.

About the report itself, not a dicky bird.

I'm unsurprised; the type of mansplainy twunt who uses the Simone De Beauvoir wow as proof of genderfeelz is prob too far gone to understand that he is now part of the Magisterium

Pity. I liked those books but my utter contempt for him means I can't enjoy them any more.

See also, Gaiman, Joanne Harris.

I too make some distinction and I agree with the above . Those are the ones I think we should be giving an escape route from the corner to .

There were some who I would find harder to allow an escape route to : the vindictive , the callous , the spiteful , the totally unremorseful who others have already mentioned.

But I don’t want to sink to their level and be vindictive myself .

RufustheFactualReindeer · 14/04/2024 00:57

But I don’t want to sink to their level and be vindictive myself

i can do that for everyone

NormaSnorks · 14/04/2024 07:59

The problem is going to be that all these organisations will have appointed ‘Diversity Leads’ of the pink-haired, pronoun badge-wearing type, and if they are given the task of responding to the Cass report their response will be to discredit or do nothing.
In my experience senior management hasn’t been aware of the underlying issues but has just blithely signed off diversity/ ‘be kind’ stuff which they’ve been told will make then look good. And of course the social media channels are often run by younger staff who have overstepped to show that they are allies.

Me too. I’m very slow to anger… but when the blood rises I get what my family call ‘the rage’. It lasts for days and I can bear a grudge like no one else (no, probably not very healthy but as an ex therapist, I can live with it)

crunchermuncher · 14/04/2024 10:55

There is a difference between holding someone to account for their damaging actions and being vindictive though.

The former is healthy and helpful the latter is not so much.

Edit for the usual typos

Can't be overstated enough: the outsourcing of an organisation's conscience and expertise to the narrow "lived experience" of some identity obsessed employees has completely destroyed the reputations of all our main charities. I have particular contempt for those with child safeguarding responsibilities.
