I don't want to derail but if you feel brave enough you could post some facts, such as:
Lia Thomas won the NCAA 500 yards freestyle ahead of 3 female olympic silver medallists. Their pre transistion self would never even have qualified for the NCAA men's races let alone made a final.
Taking testosterone suppressing drugs as Lia did does not undo the benefits of male puberty- these are irreversible:
-Taller
-Greater heart and lung capacity
-Longer arms & bigger hands (both relevant to swimming power)
-Longer legs with narrower pelvis (more efficient at running&swimming with less chance of injury)
-Higher proportion of fast twitch muscle fibres which produce explosive power
It's also interesting to consider that natal women found to be over the IOC maximum testosterone limit, indicating doping, receive a 4 year ban. If a trans women is found to be over, they get a 1 year ban. Why the discrimination against natal women? Clearly the Ioc recognises the sporting benefits of testosterone, or it wouldn't be a banned substance for natal women.
I have never heard of a trans woman advocating for removal of sex categories in sport altogether, which surely would make sense if sex really did make no difference. I guess its because in that scenario, all sport would be dominated by the top men, and the trans women we see in women's sport could never compete against them.
Plus, no validation from being in the women's category. But it's not about that. Apparently 🙄
