Thread to record where and when to find tv/radio commentary on the Cass report, so that it is easy for people to find it on catchup. If you’re listening/watching and it comes up, please record the channel/show and the time

It's like when they were pitting climate scientists against someone from twitter who doesn't believe in global warming to provide some spurious balance.

Why don't they learn?

MagpiePi · 10/04/2024 10:07

Hannah Barnes on WH now

MarieDeGournay · 10/04/2024 11:53

Unfortunate co-incidence of Cass report and Post Office IT scandal enquiry, live coverage of the latter has taken over TV news channels, on a 'quieter' newsday, Cass might have featured more prominently throughout the day.

WinterTrees · 10/04/2024 12:03

Jeremy Vine covering this on R2 in a minute I think

WinterTrees · 10/04/2024 12:10

JV indeed discussing it, but focusing n 'the toxicity of the debate.' On both sides, of course. 🙄🙄

JaninaDuszejko · 10/04/2024 12:11

It was the Today programme's top story, first thing they spoke about at 6am this morning and as others have said repeated throughtout the programme.

We should all be proud of ourselves today for pushing away at this over the last few years.

MorrisZapp · 10/04/2024 12:12

Matt Chorley on Times Radio just made mincemeat of Mermaids. Hannah Barnes on now.

Datun · 10/04/2024 12:17

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 10:01

Yes. Brilliant. I hope nobody lets this go.

The kind of people who would do this on no evidence, and those who supported it, need to be held accountable.

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 12:48

Birdy rose on Jeremy vine!

Also, vine repeatedly called a TW who was on a he when talking to birdy....

Not tv or radio, but an entirely unsurprising take from the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2024/apr/10/mother-criticises-agenda-from-above-cass-report-trans

The Guardian ''I see your years in the making well researched and evidence based report, and raise you a sob story''.

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 13:01

Wow it sounds like there is a parent being interviewed on world at one soon who was threatened with loss of custody if they didn't affirm.

Headlining

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 13:04

Though according to world at one all the charities welcome it and it's all happy happy Hmm

It's not Reverse ferrets it's a tide of reversing lemmings

AprilBringsTheSweetSpringShowers · 10/04/2024 13:08

Section on BBC R4 “The World at One” now.

popebishop · 10/04/2024 13:12

" I would much rather my child was growing up in a way in which she wasn’t sticking out like a sore thumb and potentially going to end up dead."

Woah. You don't often see "conform or die" set out quite that clearly.

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 13:13

Parents being interviewed describe what seemed like a scripted letter being given to them by their daughter, during lockdown

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 13:14

And that if they didn't see her as a man they'd loose her forever

nauticant · 10/04/2024 13:15

The parents on Radio 4 are talking about their child, the girl is autistic, with ADHD, and sex-same attracted.

PullUpTheDrawbridge · 10/04/2024 13:17

Radio one just annoyingly twisted whole point by sharing trans person's POV on how hard it was to wait for puberty blockers and how trans youth have been let down until now. As if point of the Cass Report was to provide better care (implying that means quicker and legitimatising transition journey).

WarriorN · 10/04/2024 13:17

Oh fucking hell, social services affirmed the child "you are a 13 year old boy born into a girls body." In a letter to her

nauticant · 10/04/2024 13:17

This is a highly illuminating segment on Radio 4 about failures of medical and social services.

BritishBeatleMania · 10/04/2024 13:18

This radio 4 segment is horrifying

CriticalCondition · 10/04/2024 13:21

This interview with parents on R4 is describing firsthand their nightmare. It's terrifying.

Gangstamummy · 10/04/2024 13:21

BritishBeatleMania · 10/04/2024 13:18

This radio 4 segment is horrifying

It is everything MN has been saying for years - amazing to hear it in the mainstream (finally)

Gangstamummy · 10/04/2024 13:22

They sound like wonderful parents

nauticant · 10/04/2024 13:22

Unfortunately it seems like their daughter is still completely enmeshed in the gender stuff.
