KjK "insane rant" thread 2

AdamRyan · 03/04/2024 18:10

First thread filled up just as it was getting interesting

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5036512-kjks-insane-rant

So let's keep it going. My characterisation if the two basic positions are:

1)KJK is a stone cold legend, haters gonna hate but many women will give her cash to bathe in champagne

  1. KJK is taking right wing positions for clicks and cash, most recently criticising a doctors conference to stay relevant.

Happy to discuss further. There are some particular posts I want to respond to which I will c&p below

KJK’s insane rant | Mumsnet

Kjk’s decision to attack everyone who is not her lapdog is increasingly destructive. It looks like Can-sg put on a great conference. Those doctors who...

... and her actual campaigning?

I think she's lost control of it. If she's not conservative, she needs to control who she associates with and what she posts. If she wants to lead a movement, these are crucial things to consider. Her messages are confusing.

illinivich · 05/04/2024 09:11

Its easy to skip through the comments that dont intetest you, and quote and respond to ones that do.

I do think, though, if posters cant come up with a convincing argument about a topic within the first 1000 posts, another 1000 posts using the same arguments are unlikely to work either.

Calling someone far right without any substance has being used so much by this stage, its lost all power. Saying someone makes money out of youtube and selling merch is not a gotcha, its legitimate ways to make money now.

If i didnt like KJK, i would try to promote others and make her irrelevant. I wouldnt remind people she is on youtube, shes starting a political party or she has merch to sell.

illinivich · 05/04/2024 09:17

Her messages are confusing.

Her message is crystal clear and uncompromising - men cannot be women

What is confusing is the leaps we are expected to make to see how she is far right, or someone in this for the money only.

Flickersy · 05/04/2024 08:39

Just on this thread alone, there's been:

Attempts to derail by talking about cheese, celebrities, and Oxo cubes.

Attempts to link Adam to IW.

Attempts to imply Adam is some sort of danger to children based on her views / user name.

Posts calling her "dim" and other attacks, some of which have been deleted.

"Robust disagreement" my arse.

And Adam has persistently and consistently misrepresented what's she's read (either through lack of understanding or in a deliberate attempt to smear) and listened to in order to fit her narrative about KJK.

If you don't want to be thought of as a bad faith actor and treated accordingly, don't spend your time spreading false information about what you've read and heard. 🤷‍♀️

mrshoho · 05/04/2024 09:35

I agree her message is crystal clear. I think this is what pisses certain people off because she makes no apology whether the issue of women's rights and safety aligns her left, right or centre. The rights of women and children should be a priority across all parties.

She doesn't want to lead a movement though. Where do you get that idea from?

Are you are saying she needs to control who she associates with based on certain people attending her rallies? Nobody can control that. Absolutely nobody.

Her message is "men are not women". That's not confusing at all.

I'm in agreement with Flickersy - "attempts to derail by talking about cheese, celebrities, and Oxo cubes, attempts to link Adam to IW, attempts to imply Adam is some sort of danger to children based on her views / user name, posts calling her "dim" and other attacks, some of which have been deleted - robust disagreement" my arse". These tactics are used on other threads, too, with any poster that might stick their head above the parapet. They become recognisable and tiresome.

Nothing is false there. AdamRyan has just refused to leave the thread, that's all, despite repeated requests for her to stop talking - ironically.

NefertitiV · 05/04/2024 09:48

@PurpleSparkledPixie

She doesn't want to lead a movement though. Where do you get that idea from?

Okay, a leader. Because she is doing global speaking tours? She has adoring fangirls that call her KJK? She has Twitter pages that look more like a rock star's?

The core message - men cannot be women - is fine. It's the rest I find somewhat toxic.

Boiledbeetle · 05/04/2024 09:54

That call her KJK 😱

😱 OMG! Call the police!!

that will be because typing Kellie Jay Keen Minshull is a bit of a faff when KJK works just as well

DialSquare · 05/04/2024 09:57

Adoring fan girls for shortening her name???? I also shorten India Willoughby to IW so obviously I adore IW too!

mrshoho · 05/04/2024 09:59

Erm the title of the thread refers to her as KJK. Is Adam one of these fan girls too?

The core message is it. The rest is just getting the message across.

No idea what this 'leader' bit is all about. Has she said that's what she's trying to do?

And I don't write KJK because I'm a 'fangirl'. It's because I'm lazy. We all just used to call her Posie until she started to use her real name, which as BB has said, is a bit of a faff to type out every time.

(Not sure if I'm now also a 'fangirl' of BB since I can't be bothered to type out her name in full either.)

😂 If it helps no beetles were actually boiled!

You may be too young to remember the summer of 76, but it was scorching hot. 4 year old me was lying on the pavement wiggling my legs and arms in the air pretending to be an upturned beetle and was asked if I was a girl beetle or a boy beetle. A boiled beetle I replied!

Aww cute!
I feel like you have now outed yourself to your family though....
And No I am not quite old enough to remember it

I muted this thread because 😶you know, wow. Was just intrigued whether it had gotten to accusations of Satanic rituals yet.

I just wanted to pick up on a comment by a pp - 'there's no smoke without fire'. That's errant nonsense though, isn't it? Apart from the Lorna Slater example I gave early in the thread, anyone can make up anything. I could say, for example, that a well known TV chef went into a Costa Coffee yesterday, picked up a packet of the chocolate mini muffins, stuffed one in both ears and shouted 'pitiful humans, all hail the Muffin Man!'. But it's nonsense. I made it up. But someone somewhere would undoubtedly say 'ooh, he always seemed like a wrong'un - that doesn't surprise me at all'.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/04/2024 21:38

You have to look at it as a list, not conflate everything in the list.

The list is:

A. There's grooming gangs in Telford;
B. A young woman that never actually really made it to the mainstream news, wasn't a big story, was cut up, and I think she was put in sort of meat that was sold for human consumption;
C. We know that there are grooming gangs;
D. We know that there are vast numbers of men involved in these grooming gangs; and
E. We know that there's weird cover up stuff going on that only makes sense if the other people in power are also raping children.

The cover up isn't necessarily about 'vast numbers of men', as it's separate in the list. The transcript writer hasn't picked up on the punctuation needed to make it a list, where each point is separate.

That is an interesting perspective.

That's not how humans talk. A narrative is of sentences doesn't tend to be a "list of unconnected facts". It tends to be facts that are coherently linked into the point the narrator is trying to make.

My anger and disgust is directed at the men who abused these children.

KJK speaks on behalf of the girls who were not protected.

Sick fuckers who allegedly joked about what happened to one poor girl who has never been found.

The only evidence was from bugging, there were loads of problems with that (including doubts over the accuracy of the transcription) which is why the case collapsed. So there is no "allegedly" about it any more. That evidence was withdrawn as unreliable.

I'm not posting links due to previous details but Google can tell you more about it. There are articles on the BBC and other mainstream sites about that evidence. I would now treat that story with caution.

And thanks to PP upthread for raising it because I had no idea about that, which just goes to show how embedded that myth is.

@AdamRyan

This thread illustrates the phenomenon in action - endless posters popping on to essentially tell me to shut up, insult my communication style, imply I condone child abuse, all the while ignoring the actual subject, which is stuff she has said.

FWIW, I agree with you. All the above has happened to me, too, under a different username. I had to change the username as it was attacked, too.

And going on what KJK posts on her Twitter feed - yes, that's certainly right-leaning, even a bit far-right. She even re-posted some garbage about Angela Merkel having contracted a deadly disease from eating the flesh of children. CPAC certainly did have a part to play in her speaking tour: 'The logo of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) appeared on her promotional materials, and the organisation’s Executive Director had previously spoken about why they thought Australians needed to hear from Keen.' (From a promotional article.) Keen claims on her Twitter she paid for flights; but the CPAC director said otherwise: 'Prior to this, Andrew Cooper, the founder and executive director of CPAC Australia, spoke to ABC Melbourne and confirmed his organisation had paid for Keen’s flights to Australia.'

I tend to think where there's smoke, there's fire.

Thank you.
I don't see why I should name change, I'm not ashamed of my opinions. I'm sorry you felt you needed to Flowers

Unscripted YouTube livestreams/podcasts (I can’t remember where this particular transcript was taken from) aren’t the way humans usually talk either, so you have to engage your brain in a slightly different way when listening to them 🤷‍♀️

Oh for goodness sake.
I have not.
I've been to the time to transcribe her video.
You discounted her words as "a list". Your choice. I think she was using points to make an argument, with a conclusion I disagree with.

That's a difference of opinion, not a "misrepresentation" on either side. And it's not "false information".

It's hardly the type of marketing someone would use if they "didn't want to lead a movement".

She clearly enjoys being a leader. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Ah OK. This is my fault for not being trained in how to process youtube correctly. Understood Confused

Do you think, maybe, that the reason people repeatedly say KJK is right wing/linked the the far right/says far right things, could be that a lot of people aren't trained in "how to process youtube" and still use the old fashioned norms of human communication? And that maybe its not a sign of "smears" but their genuine interpretation of what she says?

And if that's the case, maybe she could help herself and communicate across channels using different styles so all women can access her messages accurately?
