I wonder if anyone is actually listening to this or is it just a deliberate attempt to prevent Liz Truss from bringing her bill.

💯

Froodwithatowel · 15/03/2024 13:59

Labour are down to frantic filibustering. If this gets discussed, they're in the brilliant position of trying to explain a position on unsafe medication being given to children, and exactly what they mean by 'single sex'.

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 14:02

Labour don’t want to to about it on the doorstep, they don’t send Dodds to back up statements, Starmer will do anything to avoid it

And this

They really are at a loss on gender

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:03

Oooh 'to conclude' could it be?

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:07

Oh god LRM now. How long will he drone on for?

For a very long time. He knows exactly what he is doing.

This morning has confirmed to me that voting for Labour is a definite no. They are even refusing to debate and justify their position - they know it’s indefensible.

How dare he talk about women’s domestic violence refuges when he wants men in these ‘all-women’s’ refuges.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:14

I wonder how the order is decided.

FoulWrinkledWitch · 15/03/2024 14:16

He knows exactly what he's doing, and so do we.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:28

Do you think that a number of MPs are instructed to write a speech of say 40 mins then turn up to filibuster?

Floisme · 15/03/2024 14:29

Whether the Truss bill gets a reading or not, Labour's behaviour is noted.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:32

Wtf is happening now?

Namechange285 · 15/03/2024 14:39

I'm confused, does this mean it's not happening today?

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 14:42

I don’t think it’s happening.

Labour have blocked it today

Redrosetat · 15/03/2024 14:45

I’m hoping this is their version of an interval- an adjournment. If you look at the agenda..

I am not ONE BIT SURPRISED by Labour’s behaviour. The Labour Party has lost its way because of its preference for postmodernist politics over class-based politics and as a result they have lost my good will and support.

Redrosetat · 15/03/2024 14:48

Yes. Labour I am Out. The question now is who do we vote for.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:48

I'm sure that LT was asked to give another date. Couldn't catch it though.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 14:50

Hopefully it'll be first up.

Yes she was. But the same thing will happen. There were about 10 bills postponed to the same date. Unless her bill is the first of the day. Will it be? 🤔

EasternStandard · 15/03/2024 14:50

Labour are utterly hopeless and lacking commitment to women’s rights

Any idea that they want to protect women’s spaces and safeguard dc is defunct if they try this hard to not bloody talk about it

I’m more disturbed by them now than I was at 9am this morning.

Its a real concern for after the election.

Although if anyone from labour come here for a bit of electioneering, it'll be an interesting question to ask - why did so many of you block child safeguarding debate?

Imnobody4 · 15/03/2024 15:00

What on earth are they playing at.

https://twitter.com/KemiBadenoch/status/1768647056111861760?t=wqgtbWPG_X1xZDMhuF871A&s=19

Just now Labour MPs prevented debate on a new law to protect children and single sex spaces.
Instead they used parliamentary time to discuss ferret name choices.
@Keir_Starmer is terrified of debate on safeguarding & his MPs actively work to ignore the concerns of constituents.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 15:00

Absolute shambles. Disgusted with Labour.

MississippiAF · 15/03/2024 15:06

Never Labour.

Also to be remembered the next time the usual posters come on other threads to tell us why we simply MUST vote Labour to improve things for women and girls
