If you want your MP to attend the debate and support the bill then Sex Matters have a template here which you can edit/complete and send via their website.

Thank you, done. I have a Tory MP. Don't know his views on this but hope he's supportive of the bill.

ChristinaXYZ · 13/03/2024 20:11

One would hope after WPATH files and the puberty blockers decisison and some of the more recent court cases that some of those on the fence might be a bit braver.

Done

Screamingabdabz · 14/03/2024 00:20

I’ve written to mine. Will be keen to know if he engages.

Done

teawamutu · 14/03/2024 08:05

Done, and thank you for sharing.

VicSynix · 14/03/2024 08:15

Done, thank you. My MP may be a Tory but he seems to be gender-critical (has already posted approving about puberty blockers being banned and calling for an investigation about why this happened) so I am hopeful.

RachelWalshsDog · 14/03/2024 08:37

Done.

Please follow the link.
It takes 2 minutes.

3 if you want to add your own wording which I did.

Alert your MP this is happening.

domineastronomy · 14/03/2024 12:09

@VicSynix
I think we may have the same Tory MP!
Very supportive reply and link to an article by him calling for an enquiry into the widespread prescribing of puberty blockers to children.

Runningwildish · 14/03/2024 12:12

I've done it

PaterPower · 15/03/2024 02:22

My Tory MP is full on TWAW, so very unlikely to even read it, but done anyway.

He’s stepping down at the next election, so hopefully we’ll have someone a little more in touch with reality.

I don’t know if any body is following parliament this morning.

Private members Bills are being discussed. They haven’t got past the first bill yet, they’ve been talking since 09:30 it’s now 13:15.

Labour MPs are prolonging the first bill (animal welfare, which I totally support, however they are dragging it out on purpose). They keep trying to widen the debate.

A Conservative MP just raised this - that Labour are prolonging the first discussion so as not to get into Private Members Bill about single sex spaces - and was told to stop by the deputy speaker.

This is a disgrace. Live on Freeview 232 (or audio only).

Redrosetat · 15/03/2024 13:31

Ok the second bill just started. Women’s rights is the third bill. So let’s see.

I bet. How depressing for women and children.

MrsBlackett · 15/03/2024 13:36

I dipped in and had a listen just as someone was talking about a family member's pet ferret called Oscar, then switched off the sound. Very. Big. Sigh.

If nothing else, these deliberate debates to delay the next private members' bill(s) in line will give everyone the evidence of which MPs are behaving in this way. Possibly useful information to use against these MPs in the future or when campaigning against them in the next general election?

Exactly.

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 13:47

Liz Truss on next- if only the public procurement bill would wind up......

domineastronomy · 15/03/2024 13:56

I wonder if anyone is actually listening to this or is it just a deliberate attempt to prevent Liz Truss from bringing her bill.

Redrosetat · 15/03/2024 13:57

I note the Labour mp Lloyd RM is there. He’s a misogynist. If it gets to the third bill expect to see him on display for all to see. Though he has had to formally apologise to female MPs before for his behaviour, so let’s see if he can rein in his male anger.

NecessaryNameChange1 · 15/03/2024 13:57

You can watch it on BBC Parliament on iPlayer.
