Has anyone seen this recent article on the transgender (trans woman) Scarlett Blake who was sentenced to 24 years today for murdering a man. Blake also killed a cat. Pls see this recent article from bbc news. BBC news puts nowhere in article that Blake is transgender. Uses pronouns ‘she’ and refers to Blake as a woman.

bbc article here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-68401335

These are not our crimes. I am reporting the omission of the fact Blake is transgender to Ofcom. I wonder if anyone is thinking the same (about reporting to ofcom, here is the link: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/complaints )

Make a complaint

Ofcom may be able to help you complain about phone, broadband and postal services, TV, radio and on-demand programmes, interference to wireless devices, or something you have seen on a video-sharing platform.

It was similarly reported recently in the Times a few days ago, with 'Woman kills...' in the headline, although it was later changed so maybe they got complaints too. It pisses me off, because it's peddling lies on behalf of a murder accused. How are we supposed to trust news sources when it's obvious they are just lying.

Also, in the Times report it stated this person claims to have a cat identity (whatever the fuck that is), so are we to believe this too and just go along with it? If not, why then are we indulging the other delusions this person has about themselves being a woman just because they say so.

Why is one accepted as delusional nonsense and the other is a special identity that must be prioritised at all times? They are both just lies in this person's head.

Agreed...the headline should read....Cat murders man....then maybe the media will be held more accountable for its 'facts'

Why wasn't he/she detained for the cat crime? That is absolutely horrendous , especially as it lead to another horrible murder.

It's crazy how that wasn't taken seriously as it was just so vile.

Animal cruelty and torture definitely correlates to later abuse and murder of humans.

Many years ago I knew a Magistrate who told us of a terrible animal cruelty case that she referred to Crown Court as she wouldn't be able to hand down a severe enough sentence in Magistrate's Court.

I wish she hadn't mentioned what it was about , as it has troubled me for decades.

That was 'allegedly' perpetrated by two young men.

Magistrate didn't mention any names of course, but I have wondered in the intervening years if the men were ever convicted of serious crimes against women and children.

Can someone please relink the Unherd article? I’ve looked but can’t find it on the thread. Ty💐

Today's Jeremy Vine - Found it.. here:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001whqp

If it gets touched on at all, I’d be amazed.

But if it does get airtime, I’d bet it’ll be Jeremy doing his usual “both sides” / “it’s complicated” routine and he’ll stack the guests he uses so that the TWAW mantra gets a good airing whilst the ‘counterpoint’ will come from an “inclusion” correspondent. You know the sort - someone who’ll parrot something about IPSO guidelines whilst not touching the actual issue with a bargepole.

But hey, you never know. At some point he’s got to grow a backbone.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 27/02/2024 12:13

I’ve complained again. Fuck all will happen, as when I complained about Isla Bryson

Have it on the laptop now...Urgh...I didn't realise that it was basically a music show. So one has to listen to a load of ghastly pop before one gets to lightweight chit chat.

{As you can tell, not used to Radio 2!}

I think the cat killing didn't come to light until Bell dobbed him in for the murder.

Surely by 17 puberty is well underway, what's the point of blocking it then? It's a pity the Tavi didn't do more for Blake's mental health, perhaps their patient wouldn't have gone on to murder.

A report on the BBC's reporting in the Spectator

https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/why-is-the-bbc-spreading-fake-news-about-a-trans-cat-killing-murderer/

Apparently, Blake's 'deadname' (one of them anyway), his original name is Fangze Wang. The phrase 'deadname' isn't used in the report, thankfully. I found it tasteless enough in the Brianna Ghey murder. It somehow seems worse here. Blake moving through his life, leaving a trail of deadnames and then one actual corpse.

Why is the BBC not telling the full truth about a trans cat-killing murderer?

Scarlet Blake murdered a man in Oxford, but nowhere in the BBC lunchtime news's coverage of the case did it say Blake was born a man

It’s the next item up on Jeremy Vine, radio 2, listening now.

Yes, sorry. It’s normally the point that I switch off R2. I used to be a R4 listener all day, until Woman’s Hour became indoctrinated and intolerable!

TheUsualChaos · 27/02/2024 12:39

Already lost count of how many times JV has said "she" 😡

KCandtheSunlightBand · 27/02/2024 12:39

Yep, let’s roll out Jayne Faye!

Jackiebrambles · 27/02/2024 12:41

I wonder what biological sex ‘Jayne’ is. That’s rhetorical 😂

ArabellaScott · 27/02/2024 12:46

Gosh, not heard from Fae for a while.

'certain people got very very cross about it' - Vine.

Women, Jeremy. Women have fucking had enough.

Jeremy is just…ugh. Can’t listen to him. The speed with which he moves from faux sad, deep voice when introducing a serious topic, to faux jolly on a frivolous issue makes him seem so insincere.

BrightNewLife · 27/02/2024 12:58

Thanks - I've complained to the BBC.

Yes, thats certainly part of the tragedy.
What if Blake had had some sort of therapy?
What if there weren't vile sites on the internet nurturing sick fantasies into terrible deeds?

Bit odd that someone with a toe-curlingly awful voice works in radio, really.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/02/2024 13:04

wtf do these 'journalists' drone on about the 'backlash' against JKR and never mention the massive support she has for her brave honesty, especially from women?
I suppose they don't have to pretend to have balanced reporting but it's ridiculous. I note that so far this piece has two comments - both saying jkr is right.

KCandtheSunlightBand · 27/02/2024 13:09

Brave woman, ex police officer, given hardly any time to counteract the nonsense from the first interviewee, but wouldn’t be shut down by the other men that came on.
