I saw these toilet signs in the Coal Drops area of Kings Cross. I assume the "N" is for neutral or non binary. I wondered what people's thoughts were, a solution? Or no difference?

Obviously toilets being single sex doesn’t always stop this either but it shows that being in more private enclosed spaces like toilets in public areas is a risk - and a known strategy for men. Single sex toilets with gaps at the bottom and top of the door is the best solution. Visibility being key for preventing as much of this behaviour as possible.

Disabled toilets (mixed sex, no door gaps) are particularly prone to being a space of sexual assaults. If you google ‘woman raped disabled toilet’ I can see at least 8 separate incidences of disabled and able bodied women’s rapes making the news in the last couple of years around the country. As we know that’s the ones that get to make the news.

After this Google, I would advise against any woman going in the N toilets.
