Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Does anyone actually fully support trans people in women's changing rooms and loos?

1000 replies

bottomsup12 · 16/02/2024 11:35

Just curious really? I see a lot of aggressive stances (Owen Jones eg) pro this on twitter etc. I don't get it.
The only reason I can think of is that it's never actually happened to them and they imagine it will be fine but when it actually happens a few times they might start seeing sense?

For the men who are aggressively pro it I wonder how they would feel is women just started flooding into their changing rooms and bathrooms ?

but I will not debate the slur that trans people are more likely to be sex offenders, whatever dodgy stats you try to bait me with.

Dodgy stats? You mean those produced by the MoJ on prison populations?

Peskysquirrel · 19/02/2024 13:29

The concept of a sex class is one you lot made up, and no one outside your niche circles uses the term, or believes in the concept.

Just a reminder that PP thinks there is no such thing as a sex class.
Despite being the one hoping to carry a child, rather than delegate that responsibility to the H.

?

Men's rights post birth more important than women's rights post birth, i could go on.

It is very clear which sex class the people who's rights concern you most belong to.

Yet you claim not to believe that there is such a thing as a sex class.

And using the biology of another person of a specific sex class in order to achieve what they want. All so irrelevant until it comes to what they want then whoosh out the door go all principles re capitalism, irrelevance of biology and sex class.

Hypocritical is the mildest term to describe the above.

I find this obsession you have with toilets and changing rooms really bizarre. Like, really bizarre. But we all know where it comes from. It has a long, rich and unedifying history.

And I say that as someone who has been raped in public toilets twice. By cis gendered men who I already knew, on both occasions. I don't walk around in fear. Because stranger rape is incredibly rare and it's doing a disservice to young women to make them feel like they should be constantly afraid and vigilant, when the real danger comes from their families, friends and partners. We need better relationship education, not policing who can use which bog.

You might want to have a word with, say, Karl Marx. I believe he can be located in Highgate Cemetery.

But thank you for indicating the extent of your ignorance.

Mintyfreshtulips · 19/02/2024 13:36

I have no issue with trans women using tpilets with cubicles or closed changing rooms. Trans women arent a threat to me.

Men are. Like the man who still came into the women's toilets to stare through the crack at me. Or the men who wanked at me in broad daylight in Hyde Park. Or the men who assaulted me on a train. Or sent me dick pics on dating sites.

Men dont give a fuck about what rules there are in place, or whether they are allowed to do something, biological woman or not.

Peskysquirrel · 19/02/2024 13:38

"Obsession" was ticked off my bingo card a long time ago.

Caring very deeply about something that affects women and girls is not an obsession.

It's such immature language.

I never claimed that biology was irrelevant in terms of reproduction.

Care to cite the bit of Marx to which you are referring?

I mean people who fall under the banner of the t word I'm not allowed to use on here. You really are quite a small group. You just make a lot of noise.

But ..... we're not: a small group. We're bigger than you give us credit for.

And I find a number of your fixations really bizarre, so there we go.

Sdpbody · 19/02/2024 13:46

Trans women are males and should only be allowed in places where males are allowed. IMO, they have no business being in any female single space area.

DialSquare · 19/02/2024 13:48

I never claimed that biology was irrelevant in terms of reproduction.

Translation: It's very relevant when it suits me. Same with capitalism.

You are Tom Daley and I claim my £5.00.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/02/2024 13:50

And again this is why people like this poster are drawn to the trans movement, because it's all about hypocrisy, immature posturing and special pleading.

Unfortunately you're too old and the wrong sex, that's the pesky reality of biology again.

lifeturnsonadime · 19/02/2024 13:54

But the only reason for this kind of statement -

I find this obsession you have with toilets and changing rooms really bizarre. Like, really bizarre.

Is your desire to give men who identify as trans women additional rights.

So long as the men get what they want you literally don't give two hoots about any female objections to this.

Then when you are arguing for maternity wards to be allow men in 24/7 it is again the men's rights that you are advocating for. Again you don't give two hoots about any female objections to this.

This is just straight up men's rights advocacy. No more no less.

God, you're so proud of that one court judgement aren't you? You all brandishing it around constantly. It just means you can't be sacked, not that you are part of a real, actual oppressed minority.

One court case? Think LOTS of court cases.

Ben Cooper and his colleagues are systematically ripping your fuckwittery apart, case by case 💪

Soon this fascist bullshit we will be a thing of the past. I'm gonna celebrate. What YOU gonna do? 🤷

I mean people who fall under the banner of the t word I'm not allowed to use on here. You really are quite a small group. You just make a lot of noise.

If you mean people who don't believe that people can change sex, then I think that you mean the overwhelming majority of the world. That is a universal belief.

Here is that Yougov study that often gets rolled out in error on MN by people who look at Page 13 and not page 17.

docs.cdn.yougov.com/74l25pslh3/Internal_TransgenderIssues_220720_final_extraXbreak_FINAL.pdf

The relevant pages are page 13 for where 45% (not this is not more than half) women say that males should have access to female toilets because of their feelings. Only 31% of males. A large % of 21% in each sex don't know what they feel about it.

Page 17 makes it clear that the males have not had surgery and that figure falls to 34% and 24% of male respondents agreeing. And even higher % that don't know how they feel about it.

It is the significant drop that tells the story.

Each year though, the numbers of women saying no for a question like on page 13 is dropping.

Then there is too

No..... I don't think the majority of the UK is a 'small group'.

But this really seems to be a continuation of your misinformed view.

If your run luck continues after the Tories get booted out? Donate some money to Stonewall and feel smug that I no longer live in the UK. Just like I feel every time I read about another Brexit fail.
