TBF, RMW has said that they didn’t want to risk vocal chord surgery, what with being a barista barrister.

Yes

The abbreviation RMW in earlier posts stands for Robin Moira White.

Anyway, Robin is used for girls (actual girls) now. At one time I heard a belief that Robyn was the female spelling, but I'm not sure that was ever universally true.

ResisterRex · 13/02/2024 08:02

RMW told a parliamentary committee he'd purposely not got a GRC as was waiting for self-ID.

FrancescaContini · 13/02/2024 08:04

Vocal chord surgery?? 😵‍💫

Well that was RMW’s claim.

But yeah, we all know that it’s about wanting to hang on to the gravitas traditionally associated with a male voice.

By appearing on GB News RW really is aligning with the Far Right!

Tut tut

Isn't that the logic they always wheel out?

Ooo so we also have confirmation that Robin White is aligned with the far right too then?

The Guardian is not impressed.

I can also safely ignore everything Robin said here because it’s on GB News who previously have focused on things I oppose. If the source isn’t pure enough then it doesn’t matter what is actually said. Until RMW appears on Stonewall TV News hosted by Ben Hunte and Benjamin Buttergasp, it’s like nothing important is being said.

I think that’s also how it works🤔.

In the upcoming election, I will be voting Tory. For the last 30+ years my husband and I have voted Labour - and lib dem to tactically unseat the tories - so this is a HUGE turnaround for me, almost exclusively on this exact issue.

Now, it might not make any difference whatever. But, there are certainly some seats that have been won by literally a handful of votes. And I remember when Brown lost the election, Cameron didn't even get a majority.

The Tories are undoubtedly out at the next election - whatever I think, it's just time for a new government - but a handful of seats lost on a handful of votes really could make the difference between a strong and stable Labour government and a shaky collaboration.

And Starmer reminds me of Varys from Game of thrones. Where as rishi seems thoroughly decent.

Just saying.

EasternStandard · 13/02/2024 08:50

I hope this picks up

Starmer will find it hard to respond beyond we don’t talk about that

Startingagainandagain · 13/02/2024 08:54

You are referring to GB 'news', seriously?

The channel is a propaganda machine for far right views and Sunak is a corrupt and incompetent PM.

The fact that you might agree with him on this one point (gender) should not mean that you should ignore the above facts.

No good can ever come with associating yourself with this type of people or tv channel.

Sunak has zero interest in supporting women by the way...this is just another desperate attempt to get a few votes from the gullible...

Why do i feel someone is walking through the thread with a bell shouting "UNCLEAN UNCLEAN!"

Step away from GB news ladies before your brain rots and you become incapable of thinking!I

I repeat.

Why is it ok for RMW to go and associate themselves with this channel but not Rishi Sunak?

Why is RS far right but not RMW?

Yes, that's what I said! Grin
(It was a joke, I don't watch GB News but I'm still capable of analysing what is said on there, in case starting is concerned)

Again... It's the "logic" that would suggest both sides are wrong for having their views broadcast on that channel.

PaperWalkAndTalk · 13/02/2024 09:02

Everything I disagree with is Far Right and Nazis.

It's raining today, I don't like the rain because it's far-right.

I don't "associate myself" with this type of person or tv channel. I have the mental capacity to listen to what they say and evaluate it critically.

You could always suggest some left-wing politicians and tv channels I could tune into on these issues?

I wouldn't be at all surprised at a little girl called Robin. Someone in their sixties I'd assume male.

The trouble with a coalition is who do Labour collaborate with? Lib dem, Green, SNP - from a women's rights point of view, all the options are worse than Labour alone.
